SUMMIT COUNTY TRAVELING ART EXHIBIT

When we think of Summit County most often what comes to mind is picturesque ski slopes and snow covered mountains, however there is an array of varying landscapes to love throughout the county. This exhibit celebrates the diverse landscapes this area offers through the beautiful work of local artists. The Summit County Traveling Art Exhibit will be at the Kimball Junction Library through May 21.

CALL FOR ARTISTS

GO TOGETHER MURAL

Deadline: May 20 
Call for Artists

Four local nonprofits have partnered to present a new public art opportunity for Utah artists. The Call for Artists is seeking concepts for creating an outdoor interactive mural in Park City's Prospector Square. The goal of this public art project is to emphasize the message to parents that: "Whatever your child's journey, go together," and to encourage parent-child bonding for all different types of families. LATINO ARTS FESTIVAL

Deadline: May 10
Call for Submissions

The Latino Arts Festival is a cultural experience and a beautiful display of visual arts and crafts, live music, film screenings, food, and more. Currently the festival is seeking visual artists and music and performing artists to take part in this special celebration of Latino and Hispanic Cultures. The Latino Arts Festival will take place in several locations throughout Park City from June 20 to 26. Please apply here

MONSTER DRAWING RALLY

Deadline: May 1
Call for Artists

Monster Drawing Rally is a dynamic event that allows artists to interact with spectators, collectors, and fellow artists. Now in its sixth year, the 2022 edition will take place June 11 at the Kimball Art Center in Park City. Selected artists will sign up for one or three shifts and create artwork for 50 minutes. Pieces must be no bigger that 11X17 inches. Basic supplies, such as paper, pencils, crayons, markers, and colored pencils will be provided. Artists are also welcome to bring their own materials.

ALICE GALLERY

Deadline: May 15
Exhibition Proposals

The Alice Gallery invites artists working in any media, as well as independent curators, to submit an exhibition proposal for its 2022 Summer/Fall schedule. Proposals will be accepted through May 15. Selected artists are provided honoraria, curatorial guidance, and promotion of the exhibit. More information on submission can be found here

UMOCA PROJECTS GALLERY

Call for Artists

The UMOCA Projects Gallery is an initiative to promote Utah artists as they engage the contemporary art world locally and nationally. It is the first exhibition space that visitors encounter when entering UMOCA and is solely dedicated to exhibiting the work of Utah artists, providing them with a professional exhibition environment, and prominent exposure to UMOCA visitors. THE COLORFUL COLLECTIVE

Deadline: May 6 
Call for Artists 

In celebration of Pride month, the Urban Arts Gallery presents "The Colorful Collective." The exhibition will pay homage to the queer experience in Utah. The included artworks will emphasize unity and transforming the darkness in the world into one Colorful Collective. More information can be found on the Urban Arts Gallery website

47th ANNUAL BDAC STATEWIDE COMPETITION

Deadline: Apr. 20
Art Competition

The Bountiful Davis Art Center is announcing the 47th Annual BDAC Statewide Competition. The competition showcases the best recent art in all media by artists living in Utah. Submissions will be accepted through April 20. 

ROSE WANGER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER MURAL

Deadline: Apr. 15  
Call for Artists

The Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center is celebrating its 25th season this fall. To mark this milestone, the Salt Lake County Arts & Culture invites qualified local artists to submit competitive proposals for an outdoor wall mural on the east side of the Rose to celebrate 25 years of vibrant, innovative arts creation in the venue. Submit a proposal here

Grants/Fellowships
RAP TAX GRANT 

Deadline: Apr. 29
Grant

RAP – Cultural Grant is provided by a special sales tax initiative approved by the Utah State Legislature. This allows 0.1% of sales tax within the County to be spent on arts and recreation opportunities within the County. Eligible applicants for the Cultural Grant must be from a 501(c)(3) and registered with the State of Utah or a municipal or county cultural council, such as the Arts Council | Park City & Summit County. Eligible disciplines include Arts Education, Dance, History, Music, Visual Arts, Theatre, Folk Arts, and other pursuits. Applications are due by 5:00PM on April 29

UTAH DIVISION OF ARTS & MUSEUMS

Deadline: May 6
Project Grants 


Utah Arts & Museums Project Grants provide support for projects that are open and accessible to the general public, and that showcase the richness of our communities through arts and museums. Projects must take place between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. More information about the Project Grants can be found here

Our latest Insider is Blake Peterson, a local artist who grew up in Park City. This mountain town upbringing is how she gained an appreciation for both steep skiing and fine art.
