The Flexible Ensemble (David Ratliff & Eric Sokolowski) - 10 entry-level percussion ensembles with adaptable instrumentation and flexible personnel

The Flexible Ensemble

In a truly unique release, seasoned educators David Ratliff and Eric Sokolowski are proud to present The Flexible Ensemble: a collection of 10 entry-level percussion ensembles written for adaptable instrumentation and flexible personnel!

Each piece consists of 3-5 main "voices" that are scored for commonplace band room instruments. As long as at least one player covers each voice, the piece can be performed! There are also optional melodic and rhythmic parts to be layered in with extra players. Click the link below to learn more about this must-own educational resource!

Brian Mueller: Arranging for Marimba, Musicality, and the Creative Process

Brian Mueller: All Things Marimba!

Dr. Brian Mueller is best known for his beautiful, delightfully jazzy arrangements for solo marimba, including Tapspace staples Danny Boy and The Fairview Hymns. Recently, we were fortunate enough to sit down with him and pick his brain on all things marimba!

Topics include the process behind his creativity, how to develop musicality as a marimba soloist, and how to stay in touch with the personal connection behind your music.

Skeleton Key Collection (Brian Nozny) - four inventive percussion ensemble pieces with flexible parts and instrumentation

Skeleton Key Collection

Brian Nozny's Skeleton Key Collection is a fresh, engaging collection of four percussion ensemble pieces for intermediate groups. Each piece is creatively constructed with four parts using open-ended instrument names such as "high metal," "wooden," "low drum," and so on.

Not only is the instrumentation flexible, but any parts can be doubled by as many players as necessary! The director or ensemble is encouraged to customize the music to fit their unique situation.

Like a "key" that fits any lock, this book is full of educational and expressive opportunities - learn more at the link below!
