LiverWELL forums are taking place soon in Mildura and Bendigo and we are pleased to announce that a Geelong Forum is now being organised. This free workforce training event on viral hepatitis and liver disease will be held on 24 June, 2022, at the Geelong Events Centre (Kardinia Room) from 10:00am to 3:30pm. This session will also be delivered face-to-face and via zoom.

With more than six million Australians affected by liver disease and more than 7,000 Australians dying each year from chronic liver disease, it has never been more important to talk about how we can better support our livers. Our livers are important for our survival and well-being, and by keeping them healthy, we keep ourselves healthy.

There is no doubt that drinking is a huge part of Aussie culture, but sometimes having a beer with mates can turn into having four or five. Alcohol is one of the main contributors to liver damage and can cause fatty liver or fibrosis (scarring of the liver) and sometimes cirrhosis (serious liver damage).
Explore the growing number of alternatives to socialising that don't revolve around alcohol.
International Immunisation Week 24 - 30 April 2022
World Immunisation Week, celebrated in the last week of April, aims to highlight the collective action needed to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) works with countries across the globe to raise awareness of the value of vaccines and immunisation to ensure that governments obtain the necessary guidance and technical support to implement high-quality immunisation programs. The ultimate goal of World Immunisation Week is for more people to be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.
LiverWELL aims to raise awareness of the hepatitis B vaccine this International Immunisation Week, and encourages Australians, young and old, to receive their doses if they are not already up to date.
Investing in Our Planet this Earth Day 22 April 2022
The theme for Earth Day 2022 is Invest In Our Planet.
The creators of Earth Day are urging people from all around the world to work together in order to reverse the effects of climate change and the damage we have done to our planet. They are urging everyone to be "All in. Businesses, governments, and citizens — everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable. A partnership for the planet."
Keeping our planet healthy keeps us healthy, which is why LiverWELL supports the work being done to help our Earth thrive.
The Business Development Managerwill work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to proactively increase funding for programs and organisational reach, positioning LiverWELL to achieve its strategic vision in relation to liver health.
The Manager – Clinical and Programs will report to the Chief Executive Officer, guiding the expertise in our clinical pathways and driving the programmatic work of the organisation.
