Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is the time of year when our faculty and staff share their intent to return for the following school year. I always believe that God has a plan and this year is no exception. Mrs. Hawkins, our 5th-8th grade Science teacher, will be stepping out of the classroom to be more available to her mother who may be needing her more in the future. Mrs. Hoelting, our Middle School ELA teacher, who has recently had a beautiful baby boy, has decided to stay home and enjoy her time with her new miracle.  We are sad to see Mrs. Hawkins and Mrs. Hoelting leave us and wish them many blessings.

We have begun the search for new Middle School teachers and have just made a preliminary offer for a Language Arts teacher. We will keep you informed. Please pray for us as God’s plan unfolds for St. Mary’s Catholic School.

Spring testing begins today. We feel that we have made great progress with the NWEA Map Growth test and all the wonderful information we are able to glean from the results. I look forward to the results of this test and seeing the growth of our students longitudinally. Results of the testing will be sent home the week of the 9th of May.

Have a great week.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wyles

May Crowning
During the month of May – a month named for and dedicated to Mary – St. Mary’s Catholic School traditionally honors Mary with a special May Crowning ceremony. Each year our 8th graders are given the opportunity to write essays describing the impact our Blessed Mother has had on their lives. The student(s) whose essay best exemplifies this theme is/are selected to crown Mary. Students are preparing their essays at this time. The winner will be announced soon.

On Friday, the 6th of May, at 9:00 a.m., all students are invited to bring flowers to honor Mary. Students will gather outside at the grotto placing their flowers, with our 8th graders assistance, around our Blessed Mother, followed by the crowning of Mary

This school year, Kindergarten has been learning about ancient Egypt! They have been doing several projects and activities to help better learn about it. Some of the projects include building pyramids, dressing up as mummies, making their own Egyptian headbands and necklaces, and many more!
