Dear <<First Name>>
Join us for our next online meeting on Wednesday 27 April @ 6.30pm
Please use the following link to join our Zoom meeting:
Sub-Committee report on priorities for a Labor Government
At our last meeting, members of the sub-committee reported on the refugee policies that they recommended Labor should implement when it forms government. The list was divided into priority order.
A lengthy discussion ensued with members at our meeting contributing additional points. The meeting decided that the sub-committee should hold a second meeting to discuss incorporating these suggestions and to report back again to our April meeting, after liaising with the other L4R groups across Australia.
Please join us at our next meeting to learn what issues we will be raising with the Labor Minister, when Labor forms government.
We are hopeful, that by the time we hold our next meeting at the end of May, Australia will have a new Labor government and we will be able to lobby effectively for progressive refugee policies.
Palm Sunday Rally
L4R endorsed the 2022 Palm Sunday rally and march for Peace and for Refugees which was held on Sunday afternoon on April 10 at Belmore Park. The marchers ended up at Victoria Park.
We believe that our L4R groups in other states, also participated in their successful Palm Sunday rallies.
A big thanks goes to our Labor for Refugees NSW members who participated in Sydney.
Wishing everyone the very best of luck in the forthcoming election campaign.
Regards
