Reuse reminders.

Throughout the year there are plentiful opportunities for councils to remind residents to ‘think reuse’. Bank holiday weekends are a fantastic time for doing this!

A timely reminder using your social media channels will get residents thinking about all the ways they can #ChooseToReuse. You could use the following ideas for inspiration:
  • Spring bank holidays and the changing season are great times to have a declutter.
  • Long bank holiday queues at the Household Waste Recycling Centre can be avoided!
  • Freegle is free to use and open 24/7.
  • You don’t even need to leave the house to use Freegle.
  • The Freegle app makes freegling even easier.
  • Someone, somewhere will always find a use for the things you no longer need.
  • By letting go of the things you no longer use you might really help someone out.

Supporting vulnerable families with Freegle.

"There are lots of reasons why families are struggling. By using Freegle we are helping them with early help and preventing crisis."

Why should families need to choose between buying food, quality of food, paying bills or stretching their budget for non-essential items?"

"One free item can make the difference between a good meal and avoiding debt."

Earth Day (22 April)
This is the moment to change it all — the business climate, the political climate, and how we take action on climate. Now is the time for the unstoppable courage to preserve and protect our health, our families, our livelihoods… together, we must #InvestInOurPlanet.

Whether it’s sowing seeds together, taking a moment’s break to nurture your houseplants or kicking back with a cup of tea in your favourite green space, there’s so much joy to be found in gardening – and that’s exactly what we’re celebrating during this year’s National Gardening Week.
This year the theme is Loneliness. An opportunity for the whole of the UK to focus on achieving good mental health. Loneliness is affecting more and more of us in the UK and has had a huge impact on our physical and mental health during the pandemic. Our connection to other people and our community is fundamental to protecting our mental health and we need to find better ways of tackling the epidemic of loneliness.
