EASTER CAMPS ALL SET FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS

The ever-popular Easter Camps will take place in Dalkey from 11th to 14th and 19th to 22nd of April.

They are for all ages from Academy to U12 and friends or relatives are welcome as well.

Both weeks are now fully booked out.

Best of luck to all the boys, girls and coaches that will be taking part.

WEEKEND ACTION

THIS WEEKS GAMES TO LOOK OUT FOR

All four adult hurling teams are in Go-Ahead Dublin League action this weekend, as are our two U19 Men's Football teams, then the action switches to the Women in midweek, and there's a Féile Hurling Semi-Final for the U15's

🇵🇱 Saturday, Shanganagh at 6 PM AHL Div 1. Cuala v Balinteer St. John’s

Senior 1’s lost out narrowly by 2 points to Crokes on their last day out so they’ll be chomping at the bit to return to winning form on Saturday against BSJ.

🇵🇱 Saturday, Shanganagh at 6 PM AHL Div 4. Cuala v St. Vincents

Our own doubleheader with the 3rds looking to edge up the table, so position yourself between the pitches and watch both as the action unfolds.

🇵🇱Saturday, Rush at 6 PM AHL Div 3. St. Maurs v Cuala.

🇵🇱 Sunday, Shanganagh at  3 PM AHL Div 9. Cuala v Civil Service.

Our U15 Boys have a D1 Féile Shield Semi-Final on Sunday morning.  Throw-in at Cherryfield against Ballyboden St Enda's is at 10:30 AM

Three  of our U17 and U19 footballers are all in action within shouting distance on Sunday

🇲🇹 U19 Div 4 Cuala v Templeogue SS in Shanganagh @ 11.00

🇲🇹 U17 Div 1 Kilmacud Crokes v Cuala in Silverpark @ 1.30

🇲🇹 U17 Div 5 Cuala v Ballinteer StJ in Shanganagh @ 1.30

🇲🇹 U19 Men's Football Div 1 Cuala v Clontarf rearranged for St Annes Park at 7 PM on Tuesday

🇲🇹All four of our Women's Football teams are in action on Wednesday night.  The 1sts are away to Clontarf, the 2nds are at home to Lucan Sarsfields, the 3rds are (thankfully) at home to Round Towers of Lusk and the 4ths are (unfortunately) on the road away to St Patrick's Donobate.

🇲🇹 3rd and 4th Camogie teams are in action on Thursday at home to Kilmacud Crokes and Away to Thomas Davis.

AWARDS

READY TO CELEBRATE?

The Women's Section is holding a celebration night on April 30th in the Purty Loft in Dun Laoghaire.

There will be awards for players in Football and Camogie across all our teams, live music and the chance to get together and make some noise.

Thanks to our main sponsor Amgen, the tickets for the night are free, yes free of charge, but you do need to register so that we keep on top of the numbers.

Probably best to register yourself now as this is likely to fill up pretty quickly.

FÁILTE

Following the launch of the Cuala Failte Initiative last week we are looking for your help to get these refugee children kitted out and ready to play.

We are looking for all Cuala gear in reasonably good condition. Jerseys, shorts, socks, boots, helmets and hurls.

If you could drop what you have into the shop in Hyde Road on Saturday mornings you will be doing something that is easy for you but of immeasurable value to those in need.

GRANDSTAND

If you do not have gear but would like to help with this initiative an easy way is to make a donation through Grandstand Sports.  All the money will be set aside for Cuala to make available to children in need.  And Michael Gibbons of Grandstand will bump up by 20% the amount donated.

If we have gear left over following this initiative the rest of the equipment or its value will be distributed through the age groups kickstarting our sustainability journey in Cuala.

CUALA IN ACTION

MATCH REPORT

Cuala 0-23 Judes 1-19

This was the 3rd league match of the inaugural U19 Div 1 league, and we were up against  a Jude's team who had put 5 goals and 30 points up against BSJ in March. We had beaten Lucan and narrowly lost to Na Fianna but arrived at the Tymon pitch with our confidence up.

We had the lead coming into the break with 11 points from play and 2 frees, and with the majority of turnovers under our belt. Near the break though, Judes took a goal to keep them in game.

Judes started the second half strong with a number of unanswered points to put them into the lead and from there on it was nip and tuck.  Judes pulled back deep to open up space for their forwards but the Cuala defence remained resolute with any number of outstanding individual defensive moments.

Hugh Burke at full-back made a diving save from miles out to stop a shot on the line, Podge Hogan mauled his man regularly and invariably he came away with the ball, and Eoin O’Carroll’s talent for breaking the ball away from the attacker proved too much in the end for the Judes offence.

Cormac Egan put in a great shift in midfield but in coming off with an injury gave the opportunity to Ross Mason to come in at wing-back and make a huge contribution.

The inside forward line featured 6 different players throughout the game featuring Aodhan English, Matthew Ryan, Rory McGrath, Cormac Flavin and Scott Patton and was unlucky not to take 6 goals from their efforts.

Our discipline kept their free count low while at the other end they allowed us to keep adding to our tally from frees. There was a good spread of scorers but out on top was Jamie Conroy with 7 from play.

1. Mikey Dunphy 2. Padraig Hogan 3. Hugh Bourke 4. Eoin O'Carroll 5. Jack O'Sullivan 6. Oisin O'Rathallaigh 7. Jack Basquille 8. Cormac Egan 9. Mark Smith 10. Conor Lowry 11. Jamie Conroy 12. Cormac Flavin 13. Matthew Ryan 14. Aodhan English 15. Scott Patton 16. Ross Mason 17. Rory McGrath 18. Ryan Barnes

VETTING

CHANGES TO VETTING PROCEDURES

Everyone in the club who works with our children's teams needs to be Garda vetted and that has to be renewed every three years.

From now on that is going to be made easier through the GAA Foireann system and there is a piece on the Cuala website which explains everything about how the new system will work.

VETTING THROUGH FOIREANN

LORETO CHAMPIONS

Well done to the girls of Loreto National School in Dalkey who won the Corn Laovh at Parnell Park on Thursday.  Lots of the girls play with our 2009 and 2010 groups.
