The 8:30 service begins in the Chapel. The 10:30 service begins at the labyrinth, weather permitting. We begin both services by raising our palm branches and shouting “Hosanna."  Then we read the story of Jesus’s Passion, this year from Luke’s gospel. We share in Eucharist and end in silence to begin Holy Week.

Sunday Adult Formation in Lent: Freeing Jesus 9:30-10:15, in the library and on Zoom
Our Lenten series based on Diana Butler Bass's book, Freeing Jesus, concludes this week with St. Thomas member Nancy Prescott's sharing her reflections on 'Jesus as Presence', followed by a group exploration of how thinking of Jesus in this way might open up new, 'freeing' ways to experience Jesus and make our 'life transformed'. The church office still has a few copies of the paperback edition of the book, available for $15 each. However, reading the book is not required to benefit meaningfully from this series.

Holy Week is when the foundational story of Christianity – Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection – is remembered and retold, both in words and in ritual actions, at services throughout the week. It begins this Sunday with Palm Sunday and ends at sundown on Holy Saturday with a service called the Great Vigil and the first Easter celebration.

Children will go to children’s chapel during the lessons and sermon and return for baptism and Eucharist.
