Just to remind you........

FILMS AT THE SAVOY CINEMA ON WEDNESDAY 13 APRIL AT 6PM

Sustainable Living in the Heatons and The Savoy have put their heads together again for a double bill of environmental films.

River (U), explores how rivers shape our landscapes and experiences. Narrated by Willem Dafoe and with music from the Australian Chamber Orchestra, River promises to be a beautiful and powerful cinematic experience. Reviewers say that the spectacular pictures need to be seen on the big screen.  This is your chance!

River is followed by We the Power (12A) a short film with subtitles. It follows the progress of local energy co-operatives in the UK, Germany and Spain in their efforts to stop relying on big businesses for energy. These groups are striving to make renewable energy a reality for everyone at the same time as building more financially stable communities -  very topical right now.

To book your tickets go here.
You can find out more about both films on the SLH website Sustainable Living in the Heatons (slheatons.org) and on our social media channels.

The volunteers from Sustainable Living in the Heatons look forward to seeing you at The Savoy on 13 April at 6pm!  We'll have a stall in the foyer before the film so do come and meet us.

HEATON MERSEY VILLAGE GARDEN

The gardening team meet to maintain the garden on the fourth Tuesday and the second Sunday of the month from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join in.

The garden is opposite the set of shops that includes McColls and The Good Life, and next to the Sea Scouts hut and the car park on Didsbury Road. Bring gloves and small tools if you have them, although the team will come with some equipment. More information from info@slheatons.org

HEDGE MAINTENANCE: NEXT SESSION SUNDAY APRIL 24TH

Please note we have altered the maintenance date this month.  We will clear the area on either side, pick up litter,  plant a few donated bulbs and see if we need to do more to relay the hedge.  Wear sturdy shoes and long sleeves and bring gloves, secateurs, shears and a trowel if you have them, although we will come with some equipment.

The hedge is between Priestnall allotments and the recreation field, on the lane that links Trentham Avenue (SK4 3QD) and Mersey Road.  Everyone is welcome to pop along for as long as you wish.  More information from info@slheatons.org
