EASTER VIGIL
April 16, 2022, 7PM
In-person and livestreamed

This is the night!
The night when all of creation holds its breath waiting for new birth, when God's love defeats the power of death.

This is the night!
Starting outside with lighting the fire of creation, we process into a darkened sanctuary to hear the stories of God's saving acts throughout the Old Testament.  The stories are told in experiential ways: dramatic readings, skits, music, videos, and more.  We also remember our baptisms (and get a little bit wet!) and hear the announcement of the resurrection. This is a deeply moving and fun service for all ages.  Join us for this joyful celebration!  Livestreaming will begin once we arrive in the sanctuary.

ALL
COMMUNITY
EVENT:
Film Screening

On Saturday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m., attend a screening of YOUTH v GOV., the story of America’s youth taking on the world’s most powerful government. Armed with a wealth of evidence, twenty-one courageous leaders file a ground-breaking lawsuit against the U.S. government, asserting it has willfully acted over six decades to create the climate crisis, thus endangering their constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property. If these young people are successful, they will not only make history, they will change the future. The film is one hour and 50 minutes long. Barrelmaker Productions has made this opportunity possible. Terry Lodge, attorney in environmental law, will lead the post-film discussion.

Mike Ferner, environmentalist, will guide Sunday morning’s 9:00a.m. Adult Education hybrid class with information on Lake Erie and how to protect it.

Earth Day activities for children will also be offered on Sunday at 11:15 a.m.

All events are free and open to the public. For more details, visit sylvaniaucc.org/news.

Bible Study will return on Thursday, April 21, at 7PM!  We are starting a new unit on "Interpreting Hebrew Poetry," so it's a great time to join the discussion, even if you haven't attended before.  No prior knowledge required.
