Family Friends of Scouting

The Family Friends of Scouting Campaign is a six-month campaign beginning in January and ending in June. During this time, volunteer presenters should visit every Scouting unit - sharing with them the resources that the Northwest Georgia Council provides to help support their unit. They will also share how participating in the FOS helps the Northwest Georgia Council reach more youth and positively impact lives. Download the Family FOS Leaders Guide for more information. To schedule an FOS presentation, fill out the commitment card and email it to your district executive. Bob Sutton or George Henington

Scout Day at the Booth Museum

We are excited to share with you the registration links for the Booth Museum Scout Day scheduled for July 16th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The links are below and the most updated promotional flyer PDF is attached.

Training

If you or a Scouter you know that is interested in becoming Cub Shooting sports trained, let them know about this opportunity. This training is for certification of Cub Scout BB Gun and Archery Range Officers. Classes start at 8:30 am and will last until 3:00 pm. Lunch will not be provided, please bring your own lunch. These classes will result in certification to run a BB Gun Range and an Archery Range for council and district Cub Scout events such as Resident Camp, Twilight Camp, etc.

Unit Spotlight

Scouts from troops 211 & 73 helped the Murray county historical society this today at the Historic Chatsworth train depot. They washed the train car on display, trimmed bushes, spread pine straw, and cleaned up limbs/ storm debris.

Cub Scout Adventure Camp at Shipwreck Island

Avast me hearties! Welcome, to the 2022 Northwest Georgia Council Cub Scout Adventure Camp – Shipwreck Island! Embark on a fun-filled journey that will be talked about for years to come. Shooting Sports, STEM, Handicraft and more await you as you explore CSD Shipwreck Island. Those of ye going for your Arrow of Light will embark on a grand adventure as you complete the Sas-walk program. Registration opens soon but for now Download the leaders guide. Scouts that wish to be part of the Adventure Camp Staff can download an application to apply.
