We are thrilled to announce that our High School Full Orchestra has been invited to perform at the 76th annual Midwest Clinic, held from December 19 - 22, 2022 in Chicago! A few weeks ago, we submitted our application, using the recordings from our Nov. 19 Scheherazade performance, as well as the Strum piece from our December string orchestra concert. This is an incredible opportunity and a very prestigious honor — ensembles from around the world apply every year. Your student should be incredibly proud…all the hard work and dedication paid off! More details to come, but please mark your calendars for a trip to Chicago Dec. 19-22!

Below is information on summer camp opportunities from the Lamont Summer Academy and the Rushmore Music Festival. Both have scholarships available, and both have extended their deadlines for application. A representative from the Lamont Summer Academy will be visiting DSA next Tuesday to speak to the students.
The Colorado Children’s Campaign is looking to hire a string/musical trio or quartet for their annual fundraiser which is Sept 15 from 4-6pm at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, The Studio Loft. Have your student reach out to Dr. L if they are available and interested in learning more.

Rushmore Music Festival — July 9 - Aug 1, 2022
Application deadline extended to April 15. All admitted students are awarded a full-tuition fellowship and attend the program tuition-free (but do need to pay for application fee, travel expenses and a $495 meal plan fee). It sounds like they could particularly use an advanced violist or cellist. Also, as of this year, they now have a double bass program and have expanded their chamber orchestra. Lamont Summer Academy — June 19 - July 2, 2022
Lamont Summer Academy is a two-week music intensive hosted at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. We offer lessons with a world class faculty, masterclasses, chamber music, multiple performance and recital opportunities, orchestra, wind ensemble, opera and music theater, composition, and multiple electives.
