Updates

Equitable. Healthy. Zero Carbon Buildings. 
Tuesday April 12, 2022 at 12pm
The Grand Rapids Policies and Programs for Equitable, Healthy, and Zero Carbon Buildings Initiative (E.H.Zero) is a partnership between the City of Grand Rapids, U.S. Green Building Council West MI, and Urban Core Collective. The purpose of E.H.Zero is to co-create with community policies and programs to equitably decarbonize Grand Rapids residential and commercial buildings. 

An E.H.Zero Overview will be presented at the Development Center Lunch and Learn. Contact lrodgers@grand-rapids.mi.us to register.

Changing Our Lives - The City and Steelcase on How We Meet Climate Change Challenges
Friday, April 15th, 2022 from 12pm - 1pm
Conversation with Alison Sutter, the Sustainability and Performance Management Officer for the City of Grand Rapids, and Mary Ellen Mika, the Director of Sustainability at Steelcase, Inc. Michael DeWilde will moderate.

 
Earth Day 2022

EarthFest with Forever Great Co.

Friday April 22, 2022 from 4pm - 8pm
Join Forever Great & WMEAC as we come together to celebrate and clean up our environment! 

Itinerary:

  • Grand River Clean-Up @ The Blue Bridge from 4 – 5 pm
    • No sign-up or supplies required! Simply show up ready to help clean up along the Grand River
  • Pop-Up Market from 5 – 8 pm
    • Shop Forever Great & more Grand Rapids-based sustainable businesses!
  • Live music provided by DJ Venusflyytrap: 5 – 8 pm

 
Fox17: Clean GR's Waterways with the GR Water Protectors ahead of Earth Day (Apr. 7, 2022)
  • To help clean up and join the Grand Rapids Water Protectors, join one of the Sunday clean-ups each Sunday throughout the month of April, or every other Sunday throughout September from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
