FAITH GATHERINGS

Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday
“God so loved the world” (John 3).
The leap of faith in the cross and resurrection
is not so much to believe a doctrine but to trust God, as God of living.
Prayer
Father, you increase your Church by continuing to call all people to salvation.
Listen to our prayers and always watch over those you cleanse in baptism.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION FOR THE HOLY LAND
For two consecutive years, the Christians of the Holy Land have celebrated Easter and Christmas in a sort of isolation, without the warmth and solidarity of pilgrims visiting the Holy Places and local communities. Families have suffered beyond measure, more from the lack of work than from the immediate effects of the pandemic itself.

Following a request from the Holy See, the Archbishop has asked that we take up a collection on Good Friday at the Solemn Liturgy of the Passion, for the Holy Land, ‘Pro Terra Sancta’. Your support is appreciated. Thank you.

A CELEBRATION OF CONFIRMATION
On Saturday evening at the Easter Vigil Mass, two members of the community will be Confirmed in their faith - Cristina and Davin. You might keep them in your prayers. May the Holy Spirit be with them always.

CONFIRMATION PRAYER
Spirit of God, grant them:
The gift of wisdom
To see the world through your eyes,
The gift of counsel
To make difficult decisions,
The gifts of knowledge and understanding
To use their minds to know you and to love you,
The gift of fortitude
To have the courage to live in the faith
Despite the difficulties and disappointments,
The gift of piety
To be able to express their special love
And commitment to you,
And the right kind of awesome fear
That makes them pause to wonder and revere
God’s Love.
Amen.

THANK-YOU
Greystones Folkgroup and friends wish to thank all who contributed to the collection of Craft materials and toys for the Ukrainian children. A lot of the donated toys have been distributed to host families and to various centers housing these families.

We also held a fun Craft morning for families and it was much appreciated by those who attended it. We will hold another afternoon of craft activities very soon.
We have made up Craft bags from all the donated items. Each bag contained items such as:  Colouring book, markers, colouring pencils, pritt stick, pencil, rubber, sharpener, bubbles, small toy. etc etc. These were placed in a Zip Lock bag which secured them nicely. These have also been distributed but a lot more are needed.

If you would like to contribute a craft bag and select items which you would like donate for a child of a certain age please feel free to make one. Place them in a Zip Lock bag with a sticker on the outside of the bag to indicate sex and age of child you wish to receive it.
We will endeavour to get it to a child of that age/sex.
These can be brought to any 11.30 Mass and given to us where we sit as a choir. We will have a box there for collection.
Many thanks for your support.
