Monday 11th April 2022,

... and they're off!

We watched the dark clouds looming, the wind picking up and we crossed everything the weather would hold for just a few more hours -  and luckily it did!

The photos do not depict quite how cold it was, but they sure do indicate the excitement and energy which was palpable from the moment the tamariki entered the gate at 9am.

We had a truly fabulous day with our Bradford whānau coming together to celebrate our annual Cross Country event.

Special thanks to Liz for all her organisational mahi behind the scenes to make this event happen - we love the new Senior track!

Thank you to both the Mandys: our Learning Assistant Mandy stepping up to cook the BBQ and also to our Board Member, Mandy Durham for organising the loan of the event BBQ.  It was not easy when the wind was determined to blow out the burners but thank you to Chelsea McGaw for stepping in and helping save the day alongside Mandy.

Thank you to those of you who could make it in for your attendance and positive support of not only your own child, but others. There was such a real sense of community spirit - one of the things that makes our kura community so special!  Whether it was children who were fiercely competitive, others trying to beat their personal bests or some just enjoying a social run with friends there were certainly smiles aplenty!

Results and photos from the day can be found below the Duathlon details for another great community coming this Wednesday.

Reminder for the last of the Easter Raffle Cards to be returned please.  Check out photos of the awesome Hamper prizes below!

Happy Easter and holidays everyone if we don't see you in person this week!

Kason looks pretty pleased to have won the Year 1 & 2 Boys race with a time of 3m 57s.  Second place went to Chase and Ezra was third.
Dusky is also pretty chuffed to have won the Year 1 & 2 Girls race with a time of 4m 21s.  Second place went to Theresa and Ever was third.
Martin achieved his goal by winning the Year 3 & 4 Boys race with a time of 5m 26s.  Second place went to Jasper and Ethan was third.
Not to be underestimated, a determined and humble Piper took out the Year 3 & 4 Girls race with a time of 7m 13s.  Second place went to Isabella and Kaitlin was third.
Another win from Benji for the Year 5 & 6 Boys race with a time of 9m 06s.  Second place went to Jacob and Mohammad was third.
Watch out here comes lightening ... Ghazal came in a mere 25 seconds behind Benji to be the second runner home and win the Year 5 & 6 Girls race with a time of 9m 31s.  Jie Yan placed second with Saanvi coming in third.

UPDATED COVID 19 CLOSE CONTACT REFERENCE SHEET
ENTRY INTO THE SCHOOL AND FINISH TIMES UPDATED AS OF
4th APRIL 2022
We are continuing to have daily Covid cases in our kura. Entry to the School will remain restricted through the gate by the Library and we shall also continue with the staggered finish times, just for the rest of the term to see if we can break the current circuit.   Term 2 we will return to normal secure in the knowledge that we can quickly hop back into our pods if the need arises.

Please phone Sonja on 4536 254 or Emma on 027 559 4616 if you need to come into the school.  We are happy to deliver your child to the gate if you require early collection.  Please be advised that the office is not attended on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons so early notification is preferable where possible.    We sincerely appreciate your support of these changes we implemented in response to our risk analysis planning and the advice of the Director of Education.

Bradford's Board of Trustees is looking for whānau of our tamariki who are interested in being a part of our School Board.

This is a great way to be involved in the running of the school and have a greater understanding of the work that goes on behind the white board.

So if you feel you would like to be involved or would like to find out more information please contact the Board Chair;

Craig Earl
email: craig.boardoftrustees@bradford.school.nz

Bradford School's Enrolment Zone officially ceased at the end of last year.  What this means is that we can return to accepting student's from beyond the Bradford boundary that may like to join our special place. In the past, it has been really heartbreaking having to turn away prospective families who were not in Zone.

If you know of families who are interested in attending Bradford School we encourage you to please let them know we are now accepting students across all year levels for 2022.  Equally if you have a younger child who you are intending to enrol, we ask that you please let Sonja know so we can put them on our list.  This forward planning assists greatly in our staffing and classroom configurations to ensure we deliver the best adult to student ratios we can for our tamariki.
