State Library features in ABC's Tiny Oz episode

Australian history comes to life in miniature

The library is very excited to be a part of the ABC's Tiny Oz, which brings historical events and places to life in miniature. The Tiny Oz episode featuring the State Library screens tonight - Tuesday 3 May - at 8.30pm on ABC TV and ABC iview. The episode is about a hot air balloon launch that fascinated and scandalised the people of Adelaide!

If you love all things miniature, come to the library to see the tiny model featured in the episode. It's on display in the glass foyer of the library until the end of May.

Algie's romance, a 'lost' film

Calling local history buffs with knowledge of the Mitcham Hills area

Librarians love a research query challenge and finding the story behind four photographs in the Library’s digital collection has been keeping one of ours busy. The photos are believed to be ‘stills’ from the comedy film Algie’s Romance, filmed in South Australia during 1917 and 1918.

Unfortunately, the photos have no background information with them, so we are on the hunt to find out as much as we can about them, and we’d love your help!

Election material galore!

Thank you for helping the researchers of the future

A huge thank you to the South Australian public and the libraries of South Australia for your wonderful response to our recent request for donations of state election promotional material. The library received an amazing number of pamphlets, letters, posters, and how-to-vote-cards from a variety of political parties and candidates from many electorates around the state.

Now it's federal election time and we need your help again.
