Easter at Linworth has traditionally been a time for kids to worship with their family. To help with the fidgets, kids are encouraged to pick up a special worship bulletin and package that includes activities to keep their minds and fingers busy during the sermon.
The Nursery is available in room 130 for kids 0-3 years of age.

United Methodists and Ukraine
Immense gratitude to you all here at LUMC for your generous donations to help the people of Ukraine.  Linworth has so far donated $3,225 to UMCOR for Ukraine which supports refugees within Ukraine.
From the UMCOR coordinator for that area of the world - $25,000 has been forwarded to the Ukrainian Treasurer to assist with clergy salaries which have not been paid during this conflict, assist those who have lost their employment, and also to assist in humanitarian assistance in many other ways, including refugee resettlement. Previously, $5000 was sent for the same purpose.
Click here if you would like to donate to UMCOR.

Easter Egg Hunt
A great big THANK YOU to everyone who donated eggs, candy, funds, stuffed eggs, prepared crafts, hid eggs and welcomed our neighbors. Your generosity helped welcome over 320 children, youth and adults and allowed them to experience the Easter Message at our Community Egg Hunt.

The event included Family Worship with music lead by Cara Oden, our Director of Contemporary Worship and Brian Otte, our Human Resources and Engagement Manager. An interactive message was shared by Rev. Sara McSwords - with lots of egg shakers! The day was complete with age level areas to hunt eggs, and activity stations that included crafts, bubbles, and photo station.
 Next Book Study on Thursdays
New Bible Study on the Gospel of Luke starting Thursday, April 21
This study is offered in hybrid format - you can join us in room 210 at LUMC or connect through zoom.  We will be journeying through Luke’s Gospel paying attention to themes and asking ourselves what it means to our contemporary communal life of faith together.   Please email Pastor Sara to be added to the emails for this study and receive the zoom link if needed. All are welcome!
Small Group Resource Guides are Here
Looking for ways to get engaged?  Are you looking to draw your circle wider by attending a small group to connect about faith, life and all points in between?  We have compiled a Small Group Resource Guide of all current LUMC small groups, bible studies and service ministries. Thank you to Katie Ayers who has brought this booklet to life.  You can find a booklet in the back of the worship area.  If you would like a digital copy or would like one sent to you, please reach out to Stephanie.

When a child comes out to his/her/their family, it often raises many questions for both the child and for the family.  For example:
  • What does it mean for the family when a child comes out to his/her/their parents?
  • What does it mean for the parents’ relationship to their church?
  • What does it mean for the parents’ own faith?
  • How do parents navigate their own “coming out” after their children have come out to them?
  • What does the delay in the General Conference mean for me and my family and our church?
The sessions are designed to provide a safe space where questions and concerns can be dealt with openly and honestly.
These questions are among those that will be addressed in the series of four classes that will be held on Wednesday evenings:
 Wednesdays, April 20, 27, May 4, 11
This session of the class will be held on Zoom this fall.  The meetings will begin at 7:00 pm and conclude by 8:30 pm.
If you want to participate in the class, please email Jim at jwaugh3@mac.com.   Put “Kids Class” in the Subject line.  A few days prior to the class session, you will receive a Zoom invitation from Jim for the sessions.
The Rev. Jim Waugh, retired pastor in the West Ohio Conference, will lead the group.  Jim and his wife, Carol, have an adult daughter, Lisa, who came out to them several years ago.  Jim just completed a four-year term as the chair of the Parents Reconciling Network Board (a group related to the Reconciling Ministries Network).
If you have questions or need more information, please feel free to email Jim: jwaugh3@mac.com.

Youth Summer Mission Trip
June 12-18
Red Bird Mission, Beverly KY

Youth, (7-12 grade) that would like to serve this summer.
LUMC Youth will be traveling to Red Bird Mission, a United Methodist Mission site that has been providing ministries in the Appalachian Mountains since 1921. This area continues to face chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and rugged mountainous terrain, all obstacles to a fuller life for the residents of the area. Red Bird Mission strives to meet education, heath and wellness, community outreach, economic opportunity and housing improvement needs for residents.
We will have the opportunity to meet the people of this region as we partner with Red Bird Mission to complete basic building needs and work in community center Monday-Thursday. Friday we will have a fun day, to be decided by the group, before heading home Saturday.
To Register click here. Registration includes a $50 deposit. Full price of the trip is TBD but scholarships are available. We will also have fundraising opportunities to help defer the cost of the trip.
