Thanks for attending BINGO!

Thanks to all the families that joined us for the BINGO event this past weekend. It was a lot of fun and the PTA looks forward to hosting more family events in the near future! A special thanks to Vanessa Dillngham, Mary Young, Fallon Stefani and Susan Behrmann for planning it!  And thank you to Matt Stefani and Dennis Dillingham for being the callers!

Still time to donate to the Annual Appeal!

A huge thank you to all who have already donated to our Annual Appeal. Your financial support ensures we can offer the programs, events, scholarships and more.

For those of you who are newer to the Kingsley community, or it has just been hard to remember the time when we were all able to come together, please watch this video to see some of the favorite PTA sponsored initiatives from years past. Your donation will help us bring many of these activities back as well as implement new ideas for next year.

We are almost one-third of the way to our goal but still have a ways to go, so if you have not yet donated and are inclined, you can do so via cash or check by dropping it with your donation into the PTA mailbox; by Zelle to KingsleyPTAtreasury@gmail.com; or give at invest-in-kingsley-2022.cheddarup.com. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you for supporting Kingsley!

Honor Your Favorite Teachers!

Foundation 65’s Honor a Teacher program allows us to say thank you to educators who have been working so hard for all of our children this year.

Educators who are recognized with a donation in their honor will receive a digital card from Foundation 65, including your name and a personal note.*

Your gift will support Foundation 65, an independent grant-making organization that invests in educator-led initiatives to support educational equity through literacy and arts in a child’s foundational years.

Go to www.foundation65.org/honor-a-teacher to make your gift and craft your personal note today.

*Gifts must be received by April 28th in order to send a personal note. The amount of the gift will not be shared publicly with the teacher.

10 Second Film Festival is Back!

Come celebrate Earth Week with D65 Climate Action Teams and Citizens’ Greener Evanston on Friday, April 22nd in the Rotary auditorium (1560 Sherman Ave.) at 6:30 p.m.. We'll be screening ten second environmental films created by D65 students.

Our third 10 Second Film Festival is an event for the whole family! Come watch the students’ perspectives on the environment and climate action on the big screen. Students who attend will be part of a raffle for fun, experienced based prizes.

The Film Festival will feature a repurposed instrument drumming circle! Feel free to bring some improvised musical instruments from home (kitchen utensils anyone?). Anything that you can hit, shake, or scrape would be great. Or if you're able you could even make your own instrument! We'll have some extra on hand in case you're not able to bring any.

Submit a film here; deadline is midnight April 21st. Tickets are free but are required for entrance as there are a limited number available. Get your tickets through Eventbrite here. Current Rotary guidelines require proof of vaccination and masking inside the building.

To learn more and get involved, find D65 Climate Action Teams on Facebook at D65 Climate Action Teams or email us at d65climateaction@gmail.com. Learn more about Citizens’ Greener Evanston work to make Evanston a more environmentally just and sustainable community at www.greenerevanston.org.

Community Support and Events

KINGSLEY ESCCA

ESCCA is an all-volunteer organization that makes clothing available to all K-8th grade children of Evanston/Skokie District 65 Schools.  Each year it provides clothing and shoes/boots to 650-700 children.  Every child receives a full wardrobe of clothing, mostly gently-used items, and also new gym shoes, boots, underwear and jeans.

A parent or guardian may request ESCCA services for a District 65 child by contacting his or her school health clerk, Juanita Barrett (barrettj2@district65.net or 847-859-8402), social worker, Clarissa Rosenberg (rosenbergc@district65.net or 847-859-8408) or school principal, David Davis (davisda@district65.net or 847-859-8401).

For more information on ESCCA, visit their website. For information on what can be donated, click here. Please donate if you can. There is a bin located in the nurse’s office. For more information, please contact fallon.stefani@gmail.com.

District 65's Digital Backpack

The backpack is a free site screened and maintained by District 65 to share our community's youth and family events and programs. The more the community uses the site, the more organizations will regularly take advantage of this resource for the benefit of us all.
