Dear Friend of Hospice Plett

With the Easter celebrations a mere matter of days away, we'd like to remind you of the harp recital being held at Bosky Dell on Good Friday afternoon.  The programme is quiet, contemplative and all JS Bach - forty-five minutes to contemplate the real meaning of Easter - and those that are in desperate need all over the world right now.

About the artist and the Programme:

Olga Schoeman plays Bach

What would be a better accompaniment to quiet Good Friday reflection than Bach played on the harp?

Our superb, Garden Route-based harpist, Olga Schoeman will be performing a 40min Bach programme this Good Friday at Bosky Dell – be there!

The programme will feature Bach works written for solo violin and transcribed/adapted by French harpist and composer,
Marcel Grandjany with the exception of the Siciliano that was transcribed by Schoeman.

Olga Schoeman began her musical career at the age of 5. She went on to earn three licentiates from the University of the Witwatersrand in piano and harp.  She performed as the orchestral harpist in the SABC Junior Orchestra, the National SABC Orchestra and the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra. Her solo career has included performances all over South Africa and neighbouring countries, and South America, though solo work was not her focus.  Schoeman says her interest in, and passion for solo work was revived in 2021.

Of this programme, “ …well-played, excellent combination of skill, technique, intellect, playfulness and emotion”.

The recital will commence at 4pm. With deference to the day, there will not be any refreshments for sale on this occasion. Tickets are available on Quicket, but if you prefer not to do online bookings, you are most welcome to contact us at hello@gardenroutemusic.org or to Whatsapp Rae on 0826501974.

As a reminder, the Garden Route Music Society, under the patronage of Lady Conyngham, was founded to provide a Non-Profit platform to

  • Support musical development on the Garden Route by showcasing local talent and exposing aspiring musicians to performances of exceptional quality.
  • Fundraising for legitimate NPOs active in our Bitou Community. Hospice Plett is currently the only beneficiary. We structured the Non-Profit in such a way that, should the need arise, we could fundraise for other NPOs. We are NOT in competition with the other fundraising activities of Hospice Plett, but rather aim to augment its fundraising efforts. We, therefore, appeal to you, our loyal supporter, to promote our events and to attend those you can.
We look forward to seeing you there and may you have a Blessed Easter.
