Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops objectives, priorities and plans for CTAHR research and extension programs with emphasis upon the needs of the county.
- Coordinates with the appropriate department chairperson if instruction is to be carried out locally or by distance education.
- Participates with CTAHR department chairpersons and the Dean’s office in the development of statewide plans for the development of agricultural industries, commodities and natural and human resources to assure coordination between county and state plans.
- Reviews and recommends funding for annual county plans of work and projects prepared by faculty members in the county based on county plans and priorities.
- Monitors and evaluates county programs and prepares reports in accordance with federal, state, University and CTAHR regulations and requirements.

A primary goal is to ensure that the military mission is accomplished and that training opportunities are realized to the fullest extent possible in a manner consistent with Federal, State, and Army environmental quality policies. Work must be done in accordance with applicable Army, Federal, and State regulations and laws, especially regarding endangered species, safety and health, and pesticides. Provides administrative and logistical support for Natural Resources Program management activities. Participates in various administrative tasks including routine purchasing.
Maintains inventory of equipment, monitors program equipment and tools. Performs administrative tasks, such as making copies, scanning, driving to complete mail runs and receive/pick up and verify deliveries, and timesheet collection and submission. Maintains staff training files including staff training database entry. Assists with meeting logistics and note taking. Conducts in and out-processing of staff. Facilitates communication program-wide. Serves as a back-up communication hub, which includes answering phones and functioning as a base radio dispatcher.

All required materials must be completed and submitted via the Fulbright Online Application by September 11, 2022 in order to be considered. A campus interview will then be scheduled in late-September 2022 and is a required part of the application process.
Due to the competitive and prestigious nature of this award, you are urged to work with your faculty adviser this spring through summer on your statement of grant purpose and personal statement. Assistant Marine Coordinator

The Assistant Marine Coordinator (AMC) coordinates with staff and partners to ensure the community support and implementation of marine conservation management plans and strategies on Hawaiʻi Island. The AMC maintains preserve areas frequented by the visiting public, removes exotic species, supports partners’ conservation efforts, and/or monitors and researches terrestrial and marine resources in coordination with TNC’s marine science team. The AMC also provides administrative and logistical support for the Hawaiʻi Island marine team as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS/AS/Technical or vocational degree in science-related field and 1-year related experience in marine or terrestrial natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting terrestrial, coastal or marine conservation projects or community outreach activities with local community members.
- Experience working with Hawai‘i ’s natural systems and cultural practices as they relate to marine conservation.
- Must have a valid driver's license.

Lokoea Farms is an eight-acre family-run farm located in Hale‘iwa. We grow orchard fruit crops, primarily citrus such as Meyer Lemons and Hawaiian Oranges, but also a variety of tropical fruits such as mango, and avocado. We also raise a small flock of chickens for eggs, and create value-added products, such as preserves and dried fruit. We primarily market our products directly to restaurants, grocery stores, and families through Farm Link Hawai‘i. We also host farm tours once a week.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Lokoea Farms is looking to hire a motivated, hard-working, and detail-oriented person to assist on the farm in Hale‘iwa. Everyone on the farm is responsible for a variety of jobs, including field work, order fulfillment, poultry care, deliveries, repairs and maintenance, and more.
Hours and schedule:
● Schedule: 3-4 days per week (Sundays, Thursdays, Fridays at minimum)
● Hours: flexible, preferably 4 hours/day, preferably 9am-1pm
● Term: 6 month commitment required with option to continue employment upon completion Responsibilities
● Harvest, wash, pack produce to complete farm orders, and update farm inventory
● Preparing new orchard ground, transplanting trees, pruning, weed management, managing irrigation, and other field work
● Weed-whacking, mowing, clearing brush, and other farm upkeep
● Spreading fertilizers, compost, and mulch around trees
● Maintenance and repairs on farm equipment and irrigation ● Poultry care, collecting and washing eggs
● Assisting with farm tour prep and cleanup
● Utilizing and updating paperwork and apps to record tasks completed and hours worked

Apply for one of our $5,000 higher education and vocational grants! Last year’s grants supported students who are studying to be organic mixed vegetable and fruit growers, organic agronomists, and organic dairy farmers. The CCOF Foundation is proud to support students who will dedicate themselves to produce organic food for a healthy world.

Test your startup team's grit and gain invaluable feedback from business mentors by participating in the 2022 Summer Startup Launchpad!
Over the course of six weeks, participants will learn and practice the lean startup methodology, which challenges teams to gather data and test assumptions to help them make business decisions. Once learned, the method can be applied to any business idea with the goal of preventing founders from prematurely spending valuable resources.
