BookFunnel/StoryOrigin Promos - Still National Poetry Month
Cartoons
Book and Merch links
Last week I ran a free book promotion for my new poetry collection, A Wonder of Words. Like many self published authors, I have a limited budget, so after many hours of exhaustive research, I choose four companies to advertise with: LutNuts, DigitalBookSpot, JustKindleBooks, and BestBookMonkey.
You may not have heard of any of them, but if you like free and discounted books, they are a few of many companies that you can sign up with to receive weekly/daily newsletters that feature books in preferred genres.
They make their money from self-published authors paying the fee to be included in the mailers, as well as through Amazon affiliate links. Like the outfitters who got rich selling supplies to the miners (most who didn't get rich) during the gold rush, they mine the miners.
There are few ways for me to reach upwards of 100000 readers, so it's worth the cost.
Wed. LitNuts: 24 downloads
Thurs. DigitalBookSpot: 132 downloads
Fri. JustKindleBook: 119 downloads
Sat. BestBookMonkey: 23 downloads
Sun. No Promo: 12 downloads
The result show I got my book into the hands of 300+ readers. That's 300 more readers than I would have had I not done any advertising.
I hope that some of you took the opportunity to download the book, and if you did, hopefully you will leave a review at any of these sites:
I decided not to do the 30 poem challenge this month so I can spend more time working on book two of my sci-fi trilogy. But when inspiration hits, you gotta write.
I posted them on Twitter and Instagram (follow me yet?) and on my blog:
