April 2022
At the Boathouse with Stephanie

Hi everyone,

What a great start to the season! Two 8's of adults in the evening, hardy scullers out in the morning, high school rowers making a splash and AND the middle school team starting Monday.

April is volunteer month and we couldn't do what we do without you. A big THANK YOU to John Hooks Davis, the board, and all of you who have volunteered for keeping the boathouse running smoothly.  We are even tackling new projects while continuing with the regular repairs and maintenance.  Another big thank you to Maya Kerstetter for helping to refurbish the Boston Whaler that has been waiting for some love for many years.

What other excitement do we have for you?

  • Racing season starts this weekend with the high school team traveling to Pittsfield and then racing at home on 4/30.  Suffield is also racing at home 4/30 in the afternoon.
  • Kayaking season starts Saturday, April 30th. Renew your membership in person or online.
  • Drop-in sculling is happening Monday and Wednesday nights at 5:30pm - beginners and experienced.  Mid-May we'll switch to beginners sweep rowing on Monday, Wednesday nights.  See our website to sign up for sweep class.
See you soon!
Stephanie

Our picnic tables have worked hard these last few years, and it shows! We would love new picnic tables and outdoor seating for our little slice of (hopefully, splinter-free) paradise on the Connecticut.
