Passion
Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
For the last few days, I have been contemplating the word “passion”. This week is known as Passion week and as we celebrate Easter we remember the Passion of the Christ. The word “passion” comes from the Latin word “patior” meaning “to suffer, bear, or endure.”
I am so humbled when I think of what Christ suffered, what He bore, and what He endured because of His love for me. Take a few minutes and meditate on all this verse implies, and thank God for the amazing gift He has given and the indescribable love with which He loves us.
What does the Passion mean to you? How can we show gratitude in this season for Christ’s sacrificial love?
