NEW RIA Research Summary:

Retailer Workplace Violence Policies and Programming

In the Spring of 2021, the LPRC published a report on research it conducted about the workplace violence-related policies and programming retailers had in place in late 2020. The following provides a summary of the study’s findings, which establishes a helpful context for the LPRC’s future work on this critical issue.

This report looks at the literature and current research on Workplace Violence policies.

NEW RIA Research Summary:

The Take Home for Busy LP Decision-makers

This brief flea markets paper is part of LPRC’s continuing look at TDCs (theft demand centers). We firmly believe TDCs like online selling, pawnshops, flea markets/swap meets, etc. help create the demand or “suction” that pulls your merchandise out of stores by thieves including boosters. TDCs enable, encourage, and enrich thieves by providing ready cash for your goods. The more we understand the dynamics of TDCs, the better we can focus and test cost-effective solutions.

NEW Research Report:

Evaluating ORC Teams:

Preliminary Findings from Interviews with ORC Team Leaders

This brief discusses preliminary findings from interviews with anti-ORC team leaders, including how they are evaluating their teams’ performance. Results show that several members are evaluating their teams based on both the “means” and “ends” of successful investigations. In other words, they are evaluating their teams and individual team members on whether they are doing things that promote successful investigations (e.g., using technology, collaborating with partners), as well as investigation outcomes (e.g., arrests and prosecutions).
