May 2022 Recap

Dianne Maze, Artist and Teacher, was our guest speaker in April. She discussed "Light and Shadow" For those of you who missed it, or want to revisit the material, Dianne has a YouTube Video on her channel here.

"It is that we are each born unique and that uniqueness is what gives us individuality, that if we exchange that uniqueness for a mask of any kind, we will not fully realize our purpose on this earth, we will never become whole." - Dianne Maze

2:45 - PAA Anouncements

Dale Laitinen paints the natural landscapes because of its promise of an infinite portal to the imagination. His paintings marry the underlying design of nature with objective reality to go beyond the surface appearance of things.

The hallmark of a Laitinen painting is his highly designed broad brush approach to depicting the landscape. His work ranges from representational to highly abstract interpretations of his chosen subjects.

Laitinen is a graduate of Modesto Junior College and San Jose State in California with a degree in Fine Art. He is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West, travels widely teaching workshops and is a national art juror.

Since 1987, he has been teaching workshops nationally and in Europe . He has been chosen as one of the jurors of selection for the 2022 National Watercolor Society Annual Open Exhibition.

He lives and paints in a Pine and Cedar forest in Pioneer, CA, in a house, not in the trees.

Please check out Dale's extensive website at dalelaitinen.com or contact him via email at dale@dalelaitinen.com.
