City of Richmond CAO Announces Retirement

Richmond’s long-serving Chief Administrative Officer, George Duncan, will retire from his position on June 30.
Mayor Malcolm Brodie said George will be missed by both the organization and the community. “George has made a major impact on our City,” he said. “Under his leadership, Richmond has become an award-winning leader in civic administration, sustainability, community safety and operations. One only has to look around see how our City has grown into a diverse, dynamic and well-managed community to see his contributions and legacy.”

Advancing BC's Manufacturing Sector - De-Risking Emerging Market Opportunity (DEMO) Toolkit 

Decisions to retool and invest in new product markets are necessary to stay relevant, but they can carry significant risk for manufacturers. This Advanced Manufacturing De-Risking Emerging Market Opportunities (DEMO) toolkit was designed by the City of Richmond, City of Surrey, Township of Langley and BC Tech Association to guide manufacturers through the process of identifying, evaluating, and addressing the risks that come with pursuing an emerging market opportunity.

The Advanced Manufacturing DEMO toolkit is divided into three sections:
1. Market Risks
2. Transition Risks
3. Operational Risks

Britannia Shipyards Seeking Mobile Food Vendors

The City of Richmond is currently seeking expressions of interest for mobile food service vendors to be located at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site from May 17 to September 5, 2022. This is a fantastic opportunity for food trucks, trailers or carts to secure a spot at one of Richmond's most picturesque and popular heritage sites over the busy summer months.

All interested operators must review the request for expression of interest and fill out and submit the questionnaire below. Submission deadline is Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
