We are proud to announce the launch of our new website where you can stay up to date on all our latest news, events, and training!
Our activities and services cover a host of different domains, categorised into COVID-19, Data Analysis Platforms, Human Data, Plant Sciences, Functional Genomics, and Research Data Management. Projects we are leading or contributing to can be found on our website, along with training material on Containers and Nextflow and our guide to submit SARS-Cov-2 genome data to the European Nucleotide Archive.
As you as one of our newsletter subscribers are the first to see our new website, don’t hesitate to contact us if you spot any mistakes or bugs.

Working together towards a federated European Genome-phenome Archive for publishing and re-using sensitive research data
In January 2022, CSC as the Finnish ELIXIR Node, completed the first end-to-end test for the Federated EGA (European Genome-phenome Archive). Federated EGA is a network of repositories that enables sharing and reusing of sensitive biomedical data internationally while complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This first end-to-end test represents a significant milestone for all the organisations involved in the project: the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) in the UK, the Centre of Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Spain, and ELIXIR Nodes in Finland, Norway, and Sweden.
Find out more about this important part of the ELIXIR life science infrastructure by following the link below.

At the latest Data Sharing and Reuse seminar of the US National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) Office of Data Science Strategy, Frederik Coppens and Carole Goble (ELIXIR-UK) laid out the aims and future direction of the ELIXIR RDMkit.
The ELIXIR RDMkit is a toolkit built by the biosciences community, for the biosciences community to provide the research data management (RDM) information they need. It is a framework for advice and best practice for RDM and acts as a hub of RDM information, with links to tool registries, training materials, standards, and databases, and to services that offer deeper knowledge for DMP planning and FAIRification practices.
A recording of the presentation is now available on our YouTube channel, or alternatively you can view the slides here.
