What happens if an employee or student tests positive?
In cases of a positive COVID-19 test result, you will be instructed to either isolate or quarantine.  Each methods helps to mitigate the potential spread to others.
  • Isolation pertains to individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 or have experienced symptoms consistent with COVID-19 regardless of vaccination status.
  • Quarantine applies to students and employees who have come into close physical contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19 and have not submitted proof of COVID-19 vaccination. The length of quarantine will be determined by the exposure date.
To date, we are managing our isolation and quarantine cases as outlined in the Student and Staff Expectation FAQ on the website.

MASK OPTIONAL IN OUTDOOR SPACES - EFFECTIVE MARCH 23, 2022

Thank you for diligence in adhering to the college's COVID-19 protocols, which have kept the number of positive cases on our campus far below the national average. As a result of our mitigation efforts and in accordance with current science related to COVID, this adjustment to our protocols will allow you to enjoy spring outdoors while still being cautious about the risk of COVID spread.

Please note that the indoor masking continues to be required, along with our current weekly on-campus rapid and random PCR COVID-19 testing for students, staff, and faculty members. Compliance with these requirements will allow us to continue to allow optional masking outdoors.

As we work together to keep each other safe, please continue to be vigilant about protecting your own health and continue to exercise a high degree of awareness about developments in the international, national, state, local, and campus COVID environment.

MANDATORY WEEKLY COVID-19 RAPID AND RANDOM PCR TESTING

All vaccinated students and employees must take a rapid antigen test once each week unless randomly selected to take a PCR test.

  • Some vaccinated and unvaccinated students and employees will be chosen randomly each week to take a PCR test.
  • Unvaccinated students and employees must take a rapid antigen test twice every week unless selected to take a PCR test, in which case they must take one antigen test in addition to the PCR test.
  • All testing will take place on the upper level lobby of Forbes Arena:
    • Persons receiving the rapid test should enter the arena at the Atlanta Student Movement Blvd. entrance.
    • Persons selected for random PCR testing should use the arena entrance near the side of Kilgore Center.
