Dear Holy Cross Families,

I hope you were all able to relax and enjoy our week of Spring Break. As we enter into Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday, our teachers have taken extra time for class discussions about Christ's suffering, death, and resurrection, visiting our beautiful stations of the cross outside in the courtyard, working on special religious crafts, or taking time to read Scripture about the washing of the feet, the Last Supper, Christ's dying on the cross for us, and His Resurrection that brings us hope as Christians.  I pray that your family is also able to find ways to celebrate Christ’s life, death, and resurrection this Easter season!

Please know that ILEARN assessments begin next week. We ask that you make sure your child is well-rested and arrives at school on time. This year the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) is seeking feedback from parents to assist IDOE with planning for grants, resources, and training to assist schools with addressing the academic impact on different student populations during the 2022-2023 school year. Please click here for more information and to access the survey.

Have a very blessed Holy Week and Easter!

Queridas familias,

Each year… the diocese celebrates the teachers of the diocesan elementary and secondary schools with a luncheon at which one teacher from each school receives the Christ the Teacher Award… Following a long line of very worthy teachers from Holy Cross School, third grade traditional track teacher Cara Barnes received the award for her years of dedicated service to our students and school community. Cara exemplifies what is best in the faculty, staff and administration of Holy Cross School, and was a most worthy and appropriate recipient, one who truly represents and brings Christ the teacher to her students.
In his brief reflection, Bishop Rhoades reminded us that the ultimate purpose of Catholic schools is to help our students reach eternal life in heaven. Our schools want children to live good, happy lives, and to know how to do so through Jesus. Teachers are entrusted with the noble art of forming children in faith, in truth, in goodness, and in beauty. They are formed in these virtues through their teachers, who are instruments of our students’ authentic growth in the midst of the challenges facing our society today. Thank you, Cara, and all our dedicated teachers and staff who work so diligently and faithfully to bring the beauty of the teachings of Jesus Christ to our school children.

Easter Egg Hunt

All school and neighborhood children are invited to the parish Easter Egg Hunt right after this Sunday's 10:30 am Easter Mass (approximately 11:30 am).  This Mass is also our monthly bilingual Mass, to which all are welcome, followed by our monthly coffee and donuts reception.
