Sala, time to share together!
Join us in October for two Spook-taculor Sala evenings. On October 13th, we will reflect upon and discuss the nature of “Fear, Identity, and Love." Hosted by István and a very special guest. Then, on October 27th, join us for pumpkin carving and a workshop on kitchen composting led by our very own Pastor Denise!
Sala is a bimonthly fellowship which is hosted by a member who shares their “knowing” with the group or coordinates an event for a most special evening. Refreshments are served followed by a guided meditation and then an activity or presentation/group discussion chosen by the host. Sala is an all inclusive, safe, sober, and beautiful space to feed one’s soul! See you there. Details on the aforementioned evenings will be posted in upcoming newsletters. See you there!

Bible Study has resumed!
Our Bible study has resumed, following the 10 AM services (2nd, 4th, & 5th Sundays).
Bible Study will begin about 10-15 minutes after the end of worship and will conclude by 12:15. It is discussion-oriented, and we welcome the input and insights of all participants.
Our discussion is based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the Sunday following the one we meet for the Bible Study.
Because of the Stewardship conversation following worship on Oct 9, our next meetings will be Oct 23 and Oct 30.
Peace, Bob

Prayers of the People
"This is my prayer."
Happy Birthday to Ethan and Charlie this week.
Carol M.: Comfort and speedy healing for her sister, Jane, after hip replacement surgery.
Chris P.: Concern for the people in Puerto Rico and other areas who have been inundated with the tropical storms Fiona and Ian.
Alan: Joy and thanksgiving for Charlie's 77th birthday. Reminder that Rosh Hashanah starts now, beginning the High Holy Days. Alan offered the traditional prayer of blessing for the New Year.
Steve: Marking his difficult year of recovery since open heart surgery, with gratitude that it has improved his life. Also, prayers for communication and progress in the negotiations between faculty and administration at his college.
Jonathan: Grateful for the blessing of Milo's help with chopping up the tree branches.
Ted: Prayers for our country as we approach the mid-term elections. Ted recommends viewing the PBS Ken Burns' series "The U.S. and The Holocaust" to raise our awareness of our history and how important it is for every person to be aware and take action.
Tim: Prayers for peace and no more war between Russia and Ukraine.
"This is our prayer."
