At the 9th edition of the Art x Science Dialogues, we were pleased to have Mr. Patrick Keller introduce the Swiss architecture studio, fabric | ch, where architects and computer scientists work together on a variety of experimental projects that combine architecture, networks, data, and algorithms. Ms. Xi Li shared with us her experience of showcasing and visualizing digital artwork in the Aiiiii Art Center, which then led to a substantial discussion on the authorship and curation of AI art.  ➠ Read the blog

At the 35th edition of the Café des Sciences series, Prof. Michael Krohn, co-head of “re-source | sustainability in the Arts” at ZHdK,  shared with us his insights on the role of social design and insightful thoughts about future design education. This is followed by Prof. Dr. Miaosen Gong, director of the DESIS lab at Jiangnan University. He introduced the interesting projects of the Keyihui Social Design Lab, which show how design could support people with intellectual disabilities. Notably, they all emphasized that knowing how to optimize the result with limited resources is extremely crucial for designers.  ➠ Read the blog

In July 2022, a roundtable took place at HES-SO to learn from the experiences of executives of Swiss and Chinese firms about resilient responses during the Shanghai lockdown 2022. Moderated by Dr. Philippe Roesle, the discussion sought to provide insights into the following questions: what are some of their resilient responses during the COVID-19 times? what were some of the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic? what are some of the actions taken in moving forward?  ➠ Read the blog

As a creative artist and content creator, Hongjun has worked in China and Italy with extensive education, marketing, business development experience, and performing art. After graduating from Yunnan Arts University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, she moved to Italy for a postgraduate degree in Music and Theatre Studies at the University of Bologna. Due to her passion for building inclusive and efficient cultural communication, she completed a master’s degree in Arts Management and Administration at Bocconi University. 

We bid farewell to our Junior Project Manager, Qinxin Xie, who is returning to Switzerland to continue her studies at EHL Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne after six months with us in Shanghai. She has made significant contributions to Swissnex in China, especially to our Communications team during her time here. The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for foreign scholars and artists for the 2023-2024 academic year are open now! The research scholarship is available to researchers who are planning to come to Switzerland to pursue research or further studies at the doctoral or post-doctoral level. Art scholarships are open to art students wishing to pursue an initial master’s degree in Switzerland.
