Reminder! World Communion Sunday is this Sunday October 2, 2022. The worship commission invites worshippers to bring their favorite bread, perhaps with an international flavor, to enjoy during Fellowship time following worship on Sunday.
Adult Sunday School class is underway!

We are excited to be offering another Matthew 25 film series adult Sunday School class beginning on Sunday, September 25. This series will focus on systemic poverty and the group will spend about 6 weeks exploring several different films and will meet in the upstairs lounge.
Thank you to Andrew Conner for leading this class!
Breakfast and Bible Games
this Sunday!

This Sunday all of our children and youth will come together during Sunday School time for a breakfast treat and same games and activities to learn more about our bibles. Middle and High school youth will also have usher training.
Reminder for kids to bring their Bible if they have one!
Meals for Youth Group
Central will host the youth group at Central a few times in October and November. If you are interested in providing a meal for the group please contact Ellie
Movie Night October 2

A church-wide movie "I'm Not Ashamed" showing at Central Presbyterian.
Sunday, October 2 at 6:00 PM
Everyone is invited to the movie night. So bring your family and friends to movie night.

I'M NOT ASHAMED is the story of Rachel Joy Scott, the first student killed at Columbine High School on April 20th, 1999, and how her life and testimony changed the world for God. Movie is rated PG-13
Passing of the Peace
With the easing of Covid protocols, the Worship Commission has modified  advice on avoiding personal contact during “Passing the Peace.”  It’s OK, as personal comfort dictates, to move about the sanctuary to greet fellow worshipers, shake hands, fist bump, elbow bump or simply wave.
Operation Christmas Child 2022

Central Presbyterian will be participating in the Operation Christmas Child program again this year. Beginning next Sunday, October 2, boxes will be available in the Fellowship Hall to take a fill. You can purchase items for boys or girls and the boxes will contain a brochure with instructions on how to fill.
Filled boxes need to be returned to church by Sunday, October 30.
No postage is necessary, our Deacons will be donating to cover all postage costs.

Donations can also be made online. Click here to build a shoebox online.

Prayer partners, please save the date for Sunday, October 9! We will have a fun gathering here at church following worship from 11:45-12:30pm.

More info coming soon!

The Holder family is in the market for a new to them vehicle for their teen son, Ridge. If you have or know of a used vehicle that might be for sale please contact Leanne. Thank you!
Quarters for Manna
You may know Manna from Seven as a weekend food pantry. It is much more than that. It provides hair cuts as well as laundry service and so much more for our less fortunate neighbors. Manna from Seven spends around $250 weekly to provide quarters (and detergent) so our less fortunate neighbors can launder their clothes. That is a lot of quarters!
Please help by dropping your quarters into the little green donation box in Fellowship Hall.
Deacon of the Month
We are fortunate to have a wonderful group of Deacons at Central. Each month a Deacon takes a turn as lead and takes care of the flowers in the sanctuary each Sunday as well as recruiting greeters for Sunday worship. Our Deacons also help serve communion every other month and host memorial service receptions when called upon.
The lead deacon for the month of October is Pat Smith. Deacons are referred to as shepherds and the list of people they try to contact and/or assist is called the shepherd’s flock.
Pat's flock includes Thomas Bogigian,  pat Collins, Mary Jean Demarr, Joe Harder, Rosetta Haynes, Allen and Leanne Holder, Barbra Lehman, Steve Mead, Carole and Ray Modesitt,John and Susan Moulton,  Susan Stallings, Max Payne, Phillip Smith, Margaret Tamar, and Karringten Winn. Anyone in Pat's flock is free to get in touch when you have a need or concern.

Prayers for this week:
Morning:

Light of the world,
shine upon our minds and hearts.
Spirit of truth,
guide us into all truth.
Holy Father, sanctify us through Thy truth,
and make us wise unto salvation,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
   -- Lawrence Tuttiett (1825-1897)
Evening:

Lord, fill this night with Your radiance.
May I sleep in peace, and rise in joy,
to welcome the light of a new day in Your name.
I ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
