the word: A Message from AJ
by: the Rev. AJ Buckley, associate priest

Beloved in Christ,

I am sorry to announce that I am leaving St. David's after this year. Unfortunately, the grant funding we were hoping for to maintain my position has not materialized. It breaks my heart to share this news with you, dear ones.

In my short time at St. David’s, y’all have made a huge impression on me and I love you all dearly. Through the diligent and caring work of the Vestry and Finance Team, I get to stay with you through Christmas Day. I’ll still be at St. David’s on most Sundays, and we will still be able to hold our book study on “In the Margins: A transgender man’s journey with Scripture” in the coming weeks.

At the same time, I will also be starting work as a cook at Trillium, a residential mental health facility here in southeast Portland. I ask your prayers as Finn and I enter this time of transition, and I want to thank you for making St. David of Wales a true church home for me, even in such a short time.

Yours in Christ,
The Rev. AJ Buckley
