Southern Boone Marching Band Wins Awards
Congratulations to the Southern Boone Marching Band/Color Guard for winning the following awards during the Wright City Marching Competition on Saturday, September 24th:

- 1st Place Drumline
- 1st Place in Field Show
- Outstanding Music in Field Show

Hess Named Semifinalist in National Merit Scholarship Program
Congratulations to senior Elizabeth Hess for being named as one of 16,000 Semifinalists in the country in the 68th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
She is competing for one of over 7,000 scholarships that total $28 million that will be offered next spring.
The program honors students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
Of the more than 1.3 million students who took the 2021 PSAT, Elizabeth placed in the top 50,000 (top 3.85%) and scored in the top 16,000 students nationwide. Elizabeth now has the chance to advance to the finalist level and win a National Merit Scholarship (this based upon an application process). Elizabeth qualified for the scholarship program by scoring higher than 207 on the Preliminary SAT (PSAT) she took in the Fall of 2021.
Primary School Receives Donation
Thank you to the Jefferson City Central Labor Council for the generous donation to the primary school. These funds will help purchase school supplies for our students and teachers.
