All that we have is thine alone! Remember singing this hymn every Sunday as the plates were carried up the aisle by the ushers? Many of us do. The words were heard so often, that perhaps we didn't even think about them anymore. However, they are so true. This Sunday our guest preacher, WELS Planned Giving Counselor, Pastor Jerry Ewings will help us see that all that we have, including the incredible abundance, is from God's hand. King David shows us the great privilege it is to use our resources to participate in God's eternal plan. Pastor Ewings will also be leading our Sunday Bible Class.

Worship services are Thursday at 7:00pm and
Sunday at 8:00am & 10:15am
*The Sunday 8am service will be livestreamed here.
New Sermon Series on Ephesians: Who are you?
Beginning next week

Our identity as individuals shapes how we view ourselves and even influences how we make decisions. In Ephesians God pulls back the curtain and reveals many wonderful truths about who we are in Christ. Maybe consider reading through this epistle in your personal devotions and then join us to ponder what God reveals. Each sermon will answer the question, "who are we?" by showing that we are:

October 9   -   Predestined (Ephesians 1:3-14)
October 16    *series break – Seminarian Jeremiah Wallander
October 23   -   People of Hope (Ephesians 1:15-23)
October 30   -   God’s Workmanship (Ephesians 2:1-10)
November 6   -   One in Christ (Ephesians 2:11-22)
November 13   -   A family (Ephesians 3:14-21)
November 20   -   Gifted (Ephesians 4:1-16)

We have a couple songs in our service this week that we have sung before, however they are still fairly new.  It will be helpful to listen to Psalm 90A and the Setting 3 Glory to God before worshiping this Sunday.

We will also sing a new Hymn written by Keith and Kristyn Getty, Before You I Kneel.  They describe this hymn as, "a hymn for the working day, a prayer for each task we are given."   The melody is based on the 4th movement of Bach’s famous cantata Wachet Auf!

We will base our study on two books: For Young Men Only: A Guys Guide to the Alien Gender and For Young Women Only: What You Need to Know About How Guys Think. Girls will be taught by Morgan Beyer and Maria Ewings. Guys will be taught by Pastor Redfield. We will have 7 classes on this topic. October 2023 marks the 175th anniversary of St. Luke's. We are looking for members interested in being on the team to organize the celebration of this milestone. If you would like to be on the ministry team that makes the decisions about how we celebrate as a congregation next year, please reach out to Pastor Redfield at 715-891-1735 or pastortredfield@gmail.com. We plan to have our first meeting in October or early November of 2022.
Some ideas to consider for the celebration:
  • How many events/meals/worship services do we want to have focused on the anniversary?
  • Do we want to have any history documents put together?
  • Do we want to highlight sons and daughters of the congregation who currently work in the ministry?
  • Do we want Pastors with a St. Luke's connection to preach a few times throughout next year?
  • Is there something else we want to do to celebrate?
Wednesday, October 12th at 7:00 p.m.
This meeting will also include a TSL call meeting. We have three calls to extend at this meeting. First of all, Beth Schumacher has announced her retirement at the end of this school year. Sadie Gawel will move to 3rd grade starting next year. We will then call for a 6th grade teacher/AD at the October 12th meeting to replace Beth's called position starting next school year. We will also be looking to extend the provisional calls currently on staff in 8th grade and 4K for another year. We hope you can join us for this important meeting!
Let's Dance!
