Radical Belonging: What's the Body Got to Do With It?
Led By Rev. Dr. Michelle Walsh
Our mission at First Parish Church in Taunton is to Inspire, Connect, and Serve.
Drawing on their experiences growing up in a Jewish family and being genderqueer, and weaving in a variety of social scientific literatures, Dr. Lindo Bacon argues that radical belonging begins with body liberation, cultural humility, and social justice in their book, Radical Belonging. We'll reflect through sharing stories on how practices of curiosity, compassion, connection, and social justice can deepen resilience and radical belonging, including here for our church community in Taunton. There will be a time after the service where we can gather on the sofas in the Common area for snacks and further conversation.
