Radical Belonging: What's the Body Got to Do With It?
Led By Rev. Dr. Michelle Walsh

Our mission at First Parish Church in Taunton is to Inspire, Connect, and Serve.

Drawing on their experiences growing up in a Jewish family and being genderqueer, and weaving in a variety of social scientific literatures, Dr. Lindo Bacon argues that radical belonging begins with body liberation, cultural humility, and social justice in their book, Radical Belonging. We'll reflect through sharing stories on how practices of curiosity, compassion, connection, and social justice can deepen resilience and radical belonging, including here for our church community in Taunton. There will be a time after the service where we can gather on the sofas in the Common area for snacks and further conversation.

This Sunday in Youth Faith Formation

Leading Chalice Children: April Rosario, Sasha Shweire, and Danielle Hazen

All are welcome and invited to join us this Thursday, September 22, at 6 pm in celebrating the Autumnal Equinox, the sacred time when Summer ends, and Autumn begins. Join us as we honor the turning of the Wheel of Life, and the balance of light and darkness through ritual, meditation, and community celebration.

**Due to the weather forecast, this service will take place inside in the commons (the back of the Sanctuary).
Climate Disaster Response Webinar Series

The fact is climate disasters are impacting our communities. The question is, how can UUs be prepared? All are welcome and encouraged to join this workshop series, Climate Disaster Response, sponsored by Side With Love. Each virtual workshop will contain activities to help participants identify the climate risks, understand who is most at risk and how their communities will be impacted. From there, participants will make a plan to prepare for and respond to climate disasters in their neighborhood.

This workshop is part of a 3-session series:
Sept 27: Assessing climate impacts & making connections (Register for this session at https://bit.ly/ClimateResponse-Impacts.)
Oct 25: Mobilizing for action (Register for this session at https://bit.ly/ClimateResponse-Mobilize)
Nov 15: Community conversation (Register for this session at https://bit.ly/ClimateResponse-Community)

To prepare for these workshops, we encourage you to watch "Fostering Local Climate Resilience through Disaster Response and Community Care" webinar

These will then be lifted up each Sunday during service.
