The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation ( DCR) is now accepting written comments for it's 10 year review of the Landscape Designations and Management Guidelines found here . The deadline for comments is Wednesday September 28

Eversource plans to expand its transmission corridor in Hampshire & Franklin Counties. Eversource wants to double the width of the corridor to 200 feet by clearcutting an additional 370 acres of forest!
We need to insist that the Mass. Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs conduct its usual full environmental impact report, as is required by Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act. Eversouce wants to waive the required environmental impact report, falsely claiming that there will be little impact.

Eversource has filed with MEPA (Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office) in order to move forward with its plan to cut over 370 acres of trees along the transmission power line corridor. Fix the Grid is a grassroots campaign in the 6 Northeast states that aims to accelerate a just transition to a democratic, transparent and renewable electric grid. We focus on pushing regional energy regulators to incentivize clean energy like wind, solar, and storage, instead of keeping us hooked on polluting fossil fuels that exacerbate the climate emergency and harm our most vulnerable communities. If you are enthusiastic about joining with partners across the region on a long term campaign to overhaul the grid consider signing up. Climate Action Now is an enthusiastic member of this coalition.
Climate Action Now is a people powered, grassroots Western Mass organization dedicated to building a powerful, unstoppable climate movement.
