Enhanced Access Update

All practices in PCNs which have commissioned the PCS at-scale Enhanced Access service should now have received all the guidance on how to book appointment. The service goes live this Saturday 1st October.

The changes in the service model, include incorporating a full MDT means there is some additional guidance on booking Long Term Condition (LTC), and Medication reviews, so please ensure reception have a copy of the summary table we provided with the guidance.
Record Sharing in PCS Enhanced Access Modules

All patients booked into a PCS hub module will need to have their record sharing enabled for PCS to see the records and treat appropriately, we will refer any patients without recording sharing enabled back to their registered practice for this to be actioned.
REMINDER: ANP and Visiting service Closure 30th September

The CCG and now ICB have supported general practice with Covid funding via PCS to provide in hours ANP and Paramedic visiting services. The funding for these will finish on 30th September and the service will close on that date.

We are exploring the idea of using some of the Enhanced Access hours in-hours to continue this service, and have discussed this with the ICB and three test PCNs. The idea has had a mixed response, so we'll re-visiting this idea in October, once practices/PCNs get a feel for EA, and the impact of the visiting services closure.

We will continue to provide updates in future service updates.
