Congratulations to JoeAnn Hart!
We're thrilled to share that Float author JoeAnn Hart has won the 2022 Hudson Prize for her short story collection, HIGHWIRE ACT & OTHER TALES OF SURVIVAL, which will be published by Black Lawrence Press in September of 2023.
In case you missed it, JoeAnn’s beautiful and haunting story “Flying Home” appeared in Among Animals 3, and will be part of this new collection.

Congratulations to W4A alumna Wendy Jensen, who was accepted into the “The Stories We Tell” writing workshop from the Voices and Faces Project. In other news, Wendy's veterinary homeopathy book Organon Reflections is forthcoming from Narayana Publishers, and her novel But I Already Said Goodbye is coming soon from Black Rose Writing.
Survival Skills author Jean Ryan has a new poem out in Shot Glass Journal.
On Tuesday, October 25, at 4 p.m. Pacific Time, you'll have the chance to hear from W4A alumna and Siskiyou Prize winner Nadja Lubiw-Hazard and other Sitka Center residents about their work.
