InvolveMINT and ReImagine Jobs have partnered to bring an innovative program to empower individuals to effect positive environmental, social, and systems change in the Pittsburgh area. This program is a series of workshops with on-the-ground training designed to deploy you to work on your cause as your career. Using the involveMINT Community Impact Network and with assistance from involveMINT leaders, you will recruit local businesses & vendors to your cause and create resource networks to sustain your work. In addition, ReImagine Jobs will help connect you to professional development opportunities from over 50 businesses on their Exhibitor Network and provide professional expertise to incubate your new social innovations. This is a training program to help folks turn their causes into sustained employment, and participants will be compensated through involveMINT's community currency.

Chatham University is hiring an 
EnvironMentors Program Coordinator/Facilitator:

From the Global Council for Science and the Environment (GCSE), "EnvironMentors is a national college access program with a mission to mentor and motivate high school students from communities underrepresented in the sciences as they plan and conduct environmental research and acquire skills that will allow them to build careers and become more active stewards of their communities and the environment." The Eden Hall Campus K-12 Program is seeking one part-time professional to work 10 hours per week, or two part-time professionals to work 5 hours per week each, to be the main Program Coordinator and Facilitator at two sites: Woodland Hills School District/Braddock Youth Project and Sto-Rox School District/Resilient Minds Youth Development.

The Center for Sustainable Business at the University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Decarbonize Middle America Program Manager:

The Program Manager will have primary responsibility for program curation for two Workstream events per year as well individual contributor and supervision of individual programs within the Workstream.  The Program Manager will assist the Senior Associate Director in working closely with other departments and schools regarding curricula, special courses, visiting scholars, speakers, and conferences. The incumbent will also assist the Senior Associate Director as requested in gathering, organizing, and producing content for distribution to stakeholders linked to the Center, assist in preparations for the semi-annual Sustainable Business Forum meetings, and assist in organizing school-wide and campus-wide events for students, faculty, and staff to engage on sustainability-related topics, as well as anything else deemed key to the growth and vitality of the Center.

Coalfield Development is hiring for several WRAP Trainee positions:
  • The employment length is 6-months and the workweek is 33 hours per week @ $11 per hour.
  • There is a set schedule that candidates must be able to work.
  • The Trainee will engage in 3 additional hours per week of personal development.
  • This position is a blend of work via on-the-job training, education through training to earn certificates, and targeted goal setting and personal development.
  • Upon the 6-month completion of the WRAPS program, the Trainee will receive support in seeking their next employment.

Allegheny County just posted several new job opportunities!

Allegheny County is hiring a Regional Recreation Supervisor. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of the Allegheny County Department of Parks, this position is responsible for assisting in the administration of the Allegheny County Parks. While overseeing the recreational facilities, concession stands, programming, and events within the parks in their respective region the employee will provide customer service, planning, facility management, programing, clerical, and other support services.
