WebEx
What’s New With WebEx?
As referenced in the campus-wide email from the helpdesk, the WebEx Meetings and WebEx Teams Apps merged into one application (WebEx). While the experience of joining meetings has not changed much, know that using the newly integrated WebEx App is the same as using WebEx Teams. View Changes to The WebEx Integrated App.
Getting Started with WebEx
WebEx is a synchronous meeting tool, like Zoom, that allows faculty to host virtual classes, meetings, and informational sessions. You can share your screen to present files, videos, or other media. You can record, save, and share the meeting with others. Every BHCC faculty, staff, and student has their own WebEx account where they can create Scheduled Meetings or use their Personal Room to host meetings. Learn more or get started by visiting our WebEx for Faculty & Staff page in our AIDE Resources ePortfolio. You are also welcome to either drop into the AIDE Virtual innovation lab or schedule an appointment with our team to learn how to schedule your meetings.
Integrate your WebEx Meetings into your Moodle courses
The WebEx Education Connector allows BHCC Faculty & Staff to seamlessly integrate WebEx virtual settings into their Moodle courses. It is an efficient and convenient way to use various WebEx tools within Moodle without having to add student emails to an invitation list, or requiring them to actively “go” to different sites. WebEx FAQ's
Q: I can't find the Breakout session for my class meetings set up through the WebEx connector?
A: Breakouts need to be added manually to WebEx connector sessions.
Q: I get the error message, "Your WebEx authorization has expired. Please reauthorize WebEx ", when I try to create my class meetings using the WebEx Connector in Moodle?
A: Please go to your WebEx Connector, sign out of the application, and sign back in to fix the issue.
Q: Why do my students get the access denied error message when joining my class?
A: Students can only join Remote WebEx class sessions as a guest. They will not be able to join if they "sign-in" or "login."
If you require students to host their WebEx meeting sessions, students can sign in through bhccstudents.webex.com and not bhcc.webex.com to compose their meetings.
