Waters Families,

Today was a professional development day for teachers. We made Aztec Xocolatl (hot chocolate) as part of a sample lesson on the true origin of chocolate. It was a wonderful way to introduce staff to the new mobile kitchen. If you want to make Xoclatl at home, the recipe is below. Be forewarned, it includes cayenne pepper.

Students have been taking assessments over the past couple of weeks and reports are being sent home. There are two assessments that Waters students have been taking, iReady in K-2 and Star360 in 3rd-8th grade. The goal of these assessments is to better understand what learning should be next for every student.

See you Monday!

With kindness,
Mr. R.
