Boonton UMC

September 25, 2022
16th Sunday after Pentecost

Sunday worship at 11:15am -
In-Person and on YouTube
Boonton UMC: A fun, musical, relevant, relational, and compassionate church
where people find hope, healing, and wholeness.
Last week, we started our newest sermon series called "Dream On." Many dreams were submitted on Sunday into our wishing well and we thank you for beginning to dream with us! If you didn't submit any dreams you have for our church, we hope you will consider doing so in the Sundays ahead. And if you're worshiping with us virtually, you can always email your dreams to Pastor Donald at pastordonaldk44@gmail.com.

Like Joseph from last week, we all have dreams (and setbacks too that can make us question whether the dreams God planted in our hearts and minds will be fulfilled). But, if you're like Daniel and King Nebuchadnezzar, who we'll be talking about this week, you've likely had nightmares too.

There are things we sometimes see in the darkest hours of the night that make us tremble in fear or keep us up long past our bed time. If we look closely at Daniel 2, we'll see some of the negative ways King Nebuchadnezzar reacted to his nightmare, and consider how we might better respond to any nightmares (frightening realities or fears, whether literal or perceived), that come our way, while asking God, like Daniel, for the vision and wisdom to understand and move forward in spite of them.

Aside from a special sermon message, we'll be having a special children's message too related to something that has been thought to catch bad dreams and help us remember our good ones: dream catchers! And we'll also be having a special invitation for healing and anointing toward the end of our worship service in place of our normal prayer time.

Join us for an unforgettable Sunday as we continue in our newest series. Whether in-person or on YouTube, we hope you can join us at 11:15am this Sunday at Boonton UMC!
