Kindness & Leadership: Why They DO Go Hand in Hand.
<<First Name>>, last Saturday I had the joy of speaking about Leading with Kindness at the M.A.P.S. GLOBAL EVENTS 'Vibrant Living Global Summit - Bringing You Peak Performance and Mental Fitness Hacks You Need to Tap into Your Innate Super Powers'.
Funny how one of the misconceptions about kindness in leadership is that it is a sign of weakness. And yet, we are now struggling with one 'great' after another:
- great resignation
- great reshuffle
- (the great:)) quiet quitting
So we looked at the not-so-hidden costs of ‘cutthroat organizations’:
1. Health care costs are nearly 50% greater than at 'kinder' organizations
2. Low employee engagement scores
- 18% lower productivity
- 16% lower profitability
- 37% lower job growth
- 65% lower share price over time
AND (drum roll):
3. Lack of loyalty (workplace stress leads to an increase of almost 50% in voluntary turnover).
Also, an estimate of The Center for American Progress is that replacing a single employee costs approximately 20% of that employee’s salary.
These are not hidden costs. These are costs that we can see and feel.
Good news is that being a 'kind boss' means that not only can you reduce these costs, but also increase:
- motivation
- innovation and creativity
- well-being
- sales and customer loyalty
'Game-Changers see possibilities and connect dots that I don’t see!'
Having taken The GC Index Business Impact assessment, as a Game-Changer myself I can attest to clearly seeing one possibility or solution after another, with everything that comes after:
- from 'wow, that's a great idea, let's go for it!'
- to 'what are you even talking about, Roxana?'
- or 'yeah, great idea, BUT...'.
Familiar to any of you:)? It usually resonates with my game-changer clients, they tend to say the same thing, in different ways:)).
But the truth is, you don't have to be a game-changer to make a game-changing impact on the world around you!
What's most important is understanding where your energy naturally goes and how you prefer to make your best impact, so that you can build on your strengths and understand why some things energize you, while others drain you.
After all, isn't THAT what motivation and engagement is all about? FEELING that you've made your best impact and contribution today, tomorrow, and the days after that.
A fantastic GC Connect by The GC Index team this Thursday, on the first day of Fall!
So proud to call All Personala GC Index Partner organization!
I tried to capture the virtual vibes of joining online in this pic.
I especially love this team's motto, sharing it with you, <<First Name>>, for inspiration:
