September 25: Rally Day and Fall Kick Off - Children's Sunday School and Adult Forum both kick off today. Rally Day will feature a bounce house and root beer floats. Schedules for Adult Forums are later in this publication. Please contact Bob Grosse with your ideas and suggestions for future Adult Forums.
Over the next few weeks we are creating a mural on the back wall of the sanctuary. The focus of this mural is leaves with photos of people who attend Mt. Carmel.

Have your photo taken by MaryAnn after church this Sunday. Can't make it this week? No Problem! We'll have opportunities for family pictures all month.
The fundraiser BBQ for Iglesia Santa Cruz last Sunday was a roaring success. Our goal was to raise enough money to pay for one-year rent on an off-site storage unit. Thanks to the generosity of Mt. Carmel and Calvary Lutheran in Morro Bay, we raised $1,800!! This money will cover more than one full year of much needed storage space.

Additional thanks to all who helped with set-up, clean-up, cooking, and organizing. Special thanks to the Road Kill Grill crew for their excellent culinary skills, and to Angie Salazar, Annie, and James from Iglesia Santa Cruz for sharing their stories with us on Sunday.

At the June 2022 Annual Meeting, our congregation approved a commitment to raise $40,000 in addition to the proposed budget to complete necessary repairs and improvements to our roofing, landscape, and drainage issues. “Cover The Roof” has been adopted as the fundraiser slogan and is ready to begin.

Watch this space in the Vistas for information concerning this fundraising project. To kick off the project, members of the council and the planning team have already committed to pledges of $15,700, leaving a balance of at least $24,300 to be raised elsewhere. All members of the congregation are being asked for their support in addition to your normal giving.

To contribute by check, make a note of “Facility Repairs” on the memo line. If you make your contributions by credit card or by E-checks let the Financial Secretary, Carol Grosse,
cgrosse@charter.net know that your donation is for the fund raising project.
