Road Safety is important to children of all ages.

Parking safely outside school is an important safety consideration for all family members.

It's time to book a Flu Spray

Your child’s annual flu vaccination is now due. This vaccination is recommended to help protect your child against flu. This year we will be offering the flu spray to those in nursery through to Year 6.

This year Mersey Care’s immunisation service has been asked by NHS England to offer the nasal flu vaccine to eligible children who attend a local authority nursery that is attached to a primary school. All children who are aged two or three years old on 31 August 2022 are eligible.

Flu can be an unpleasant illness and sometimes causes serious complications. Vaccinating your child will also help protect more vulnerable family and friends by preventing the spread of flu.

The vaccination is free and is a quick and simple spray up the nose. Even if your child had it last year, it is recommended to have the flu vaccine again this year.

Please visit the link to access further information and complete your child’s consent form as soon as possible. The flu campaign is due to the start middle of September. Even if you don’t want your child to receive their flu spray please still complete the form, as this will avoid further communications from our service.

https://econsent.merseycare.nhs.uk/

If you are unable to complete the online form, please contact our team who will be happy to help. If after completing your child’s form, you attend the GP or wish to amend their form you must contact the immunisation team directly and not your child’s school.

Please click here  for a child friendly video on flu. You and your child may find it beneficial to watch prior to them being immunised.

Yours sincerely

Attendance - Reporting Absences
Reporting ALL absences is even more important at the moment. This helps us to reduce the risk of infection spreading.

Parents please make sure you follow our procedures carefully.

Please email Admin@smaaa.info on the first day of ANY absence. You may also telephone school on 0151 477 8400

Tell our admin staff the reason for the absence, and when you expect your child to return to school.

We thank you for you help and support with this important matter.

Please note:

All unexplained absences will be looked at by our Attendance Lead, & possibly the School Attendance Service, so it's really important that you report all absences by 10am on the first day of absence!

Remember if your child is off school due to illness,  hospital  or dental appointments,  you must  also send an email with a copy of the medical letter / proof to Admin@smaaa.info

We cannot authorise any absence without proof!

If your child needs to be off school for reasons other than illness you must make a request using the following form. School will decide if the request will be authorised and send you a letter.

Any pupil having an absence without making a request will be classed as unauthorised – so it’s really important that you inform us!
