Public Power in the Plaza

Hello friends of Public Power! We hope to see you this Sunday 9/25 from 2-5pm in Liberty Plaza for an exciting event where you can come learn about Public Power from our fantastic speakers in addition to finding out how you can get involved in the fight for energy democracy. Speakers will include our advisory board, we will have 3 bands, and free ice cream! All we need to make this a success is you. Bring your friends and family!

To pull this off seamlessly we can really use your help, a few of the jobs we're looking for help with are listed below. Please reach out if you're interested in helping with any of this:

• Noon Set Up Crew:
  • Help set up tents, tables, chairs
  • Help set up the Ice Cream & water booth
  • Help set up the My DTE Story/Why I support Public Power table
  • Help set up the A2P2 info table
  • Help with decor: Trellises with sun balloons and toy windmills, banner, REPLACE DTE and PUBLIC POWER letters
  • Be a rover to help the Sound/DJ/Musicians get set up
  • Help to update the whiteboard schedule During the event:
  • Staff the Ice Cream & water booth (masks required)
  • Clipboarders (4) with volunteer forms. We have buttons for you, and please wear an A2P2 shirt if you have one. We have a few shirts to sell (will re-order after 9/25)
  • Help us remember to give an A2P2 baseball cap to all 6 of our Advisory Board members and get a group photo if possible
  • Help encourage people to record their story
• 5 pm Take Down Crew: All hands on deck. Make the Plaza look as good as it did when we started
• Post event: Convene outside at a local watering hole. Ideas welcome
