The Sight Glass: Fall Brews Edition

Hey Sight Glass pals- we hope your fall is off to a specular (and sunny!) start. We're happy to be back after an epic summer season of Backyard Concerts, craft beer fests, and non-stop beer releases! But, just because summer's over, doesn't mean the fun has to stop. We've got plenty of fun events planned for the fall, and a few spooky seasonal releases hitting shelves across BC and Alberta over the next month. Check out what we've been up to already this fall, and what we've got planned for October...

Our 2022 Benefit Brew is here!

Our Mango Hazy IPA Benefit Brew is now available in private liquor stores across BC and craft-focused liquor stores in Alberta! This easy-drinking Hazy ISA boasts fresh flavours of ripe mango which meld seamlessly with notes of lime, pineapple, and tropical fruit from Eclipse hops.⁠

This year we've partnered with the Pacific Salmon Foundation in BC and the Leftovers Foundation in AB to bring you our 2022 Benefit Brew, of which all proceeds go towards these two foundations.⁠ ⁠With increased urgency to tackle climate change, we wanted to dedicate this year's Benefit Brew to environmental organizations in both provinces that are addressing this important global issue with unique and creative local solutions.

4.6% ABV | 25 IBU | 2 SRM

World's Best Kolsch!

The results are in for the 2022 World Beer Awards, and we are beyond excited to announce that Cold Snap Kolsch has won World’s Best Kolsch! We could not be more proud.

Cold Snap is one of our brand new 2022 releases, so we are immensely pleased to receive world recognition in its first year of inception. If you haven’t yet tried it, this Kolsch is our rendition of the classic German style. Sessionable and simple, Cold Snap is an uncomplicated beer that needs nothing to hide behind.

You can find Cold Snap in liquor stores across BC & Alberta.

New Beers Coming in For Fall!

Crooked'er Tooth

Straight from the pumpkin patch and into some bourbon barrels, Crooked'er Tooth is ready to bring an extra special treat to your Halloween season.

This delicious pumpkin ale is brewed with beautifully roasted malt for a full-bodied brew with loads of pumpkin. It’s then carefully aged in freshly-emptied bourbon barrels for a slightly sweet, gently spiced brew that blends fresh pumpkin flavours with soft velvet vanilla.

You can expect to see this spooky smile on shelves in liquor stores across BC and Alberta at the start of October.

7.3% ABV | 36 SRM | 24 IBU

Eclipse Black Velvet Stout

This dark roasty stout delivers a pleasant coffee aroma and a silky, bittersweet chocolate malt-forward profile that is deep and complex but sits light and dry on the palate.

Big flavour in a sessionable, lower ABV package, this rich beer refuses to overwhelm the palate and is designed for revisitation.

Keep an eye out for Eclipse on shelves across BC and Alberta mid-October.

4.5% ABV | 40 SRM | 24 IBU

Green Reaper Fresh Hop IPA

Our classic fresh-hop brew is back! We received 250 pounds of fresh Chinook hops from Bredenhof Hop Farms in the Fraser Valley and within 24 hours of being picked, we were throwing them into the kettle!

Harvest time is short, so keep an eye out for the Green Reaper and grab yours before it goes out of season for another year… If you want to try this fresh hop brew the freshest way possible, find us at Fresh to Death on October 16^th where we’ll be pouring it on draught! Otherwise, you can expect to find Green Reaper on shelves across BC and Alberta mid-October.

6.5% ABV | 14 SRM | 55 IBU

Drag, Queers & Beers Returns!

Our next Drag, Queers & Beers show returns on October 3^rd! Our fabulous hosts Woofie and Vivian Vanderpuss are back on our infamous drag runway in the Tasting Room along with special guest- Eddie Licious! Join us from 7-8:30, the show is free but there is very limited capacity and there is no saving seats! The Missing Link will be there for all things hot dogs, and our rad Tasting Room crew has created a special beer blend for the evening, of which 50% of proceeds go towards Intrepid Theatre's OUTstages Queer Theatre Festival.
