Hi, UVCB Mates -
Our next rehearsal will be Monday, October 3, 7-9 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hanover. This will be our standing rehearsal time and site for the foreseeable future. I’ve made this an item that “repeats weekly” on my cellphone calendar so as to avoid conflicts, and I encourage you to do that.
Last Monday’s rehearsal was pretty special in that we welcomed five new members. That’s a record I think, and a remarkable addition to the UVCB talent pool. As ever, our door remains open to new recruits. We all work and play together to enhance one another’s - and thereby our own - musical experiences.

Greetings UVCB,
As promised last Monday, I include a link to a short audio discussion of the (diminishing) role of Covid vaccinations in preventing viral transmission. (Thank you, Marilyn, for making the link!) Clearly, vaccination provides very significant protection against serious illness and hospitalization but the role of vaccination in preventing transmission appears to be waning, especially as the coronavirus itself undergoes repeated mutations. Preventing transmission continues to depend significantly on our own personal behaviors and we each must continue to responsibly assess our own health states before attending Band events as our active members have in the past two years.
I encourage anyone who is concerned about our UVCB Covid policy to listen to the clip here:

As our Board considers the Band’s Covid policy going forward, we need to hear from all our members, including those who have been inactive for these past couple years. Please respond to our survey questions here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5GSVTS9,whether or not you have been actively playing with the Band these past two years. Our Board will be meeting in the coming days to consider survey responses about Covid policy and other matters, so please take a couple minutes to register your thoughts and opinions.
Thank you all,
Mark Nunlist
UVCB President
