Directory Reminder

Hello CHMS Families! We’ve had a great response for directory submissions. This is a friendly reminder for those of you who might have missed it the first time…there is still an opportunity to get listed in the membership directory.

If you are a new family, please create an account in Membership Toolkit (MTK), input your student(s) details and your family contact information. All returning families, please login and confirm your family and student(s) contact information is still correct. Please have this completed by Sunday, September 25, 2022 to be included in our printed directory.

All PTO members have access to the online directory and can purchase a printed directory during registration. If you haven’t joined the PTO yet, please join today to have access to your online directory and support all the amazing PTO programs.

Help us recognize our amazing teachers and staff. We are asking for donations of drinks and snacks to “Stock the Staff Lounges”. Sign-up here!

The PTO coordinates this effort with donations from each grade level throughout the school year. We will ask 6th and 7th grade parents to help later in the school year.

Please drop off items on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th between 8am-9am to the tables outside of the school office. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The mascot race will include all of the D181 school mascots and is great fun. This year our mascot costume is brand new and has never been worn.

If you haven’t seen the school’s new living classroom, Phase I is complete and ready to be enjoyed by the whole CHMS community! This new garden has seating to accommodate an entire classroom, meetings, or just a quiet spot to read while waiting at pick up. The leaves on our new maple tree have already started changing colors! Phase II is in future plans.

Does Your Child Need Mental Health, Learning or Behavioral Support?

The Parent List contains first-hand insight from D86, D181 and D63 parents about area providers that have helped address their child’s anxiety; depression; school avoidance; eating disorders; insomnia; peer relations; grief; stress; ADD/ADHD; autism spectrum and more.

The Parent List was created 7 years ago in response to the suicide of a local student with the goal of streamlining the process of and decreasing the stress around connecting with a provider. The Parent List is comprised of helpful resources in our community that have already been used by a parent experiencing similar concerns to you. Doctors, therapists, support groups, inpatient and outpatient programs, tutors, nutritionists, books and holistic medical approaches may all be reviewed on The Parent List.

To read existing Parent List reviews, go to hcpto.org/parent-list/

Much like Angie’s List, The Parent List relies on consumer feedback. We need fresh reviews to keep the list current. Please consider leaving your own brief, anonymous review of a provider who made a positive difference in your child’s well-being on The Parent List.

In no way does the Hinsdale Central or Clarendon Hills Middle School (CHMS) PTOs, Hinsdale Central High School or CHMS staff, school districts 86, 63 or 181 endorse or recommend any specific provider reviewed on The Parent List. The Parent List is a subjective forum set up by the Hinsdale Central PTO for your convenience. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for deciding to use any of the service providers on The Parent List in any capacity, and district 86, district 63, district 181 and the Hinsdale Central and CHMS PTOs disclaim all liability for any damages, injuries, losses, expenses, or claims of any kind arising out of the provision of services by anyone or any agency appearing on The Parent List.
